and, not the player with the ball being down. Seems to me that FG was 100% bogus.

How can they review the player being down as to when the clock should stop?

Watch it. You'll see you are wrong.

I remember playing Auburn and it was down to the wire. We had a chance but the clock kept running for a couple of seconds after our player was down and time ran out.

Well your wrong. Whistles can kill plays but they aren’t the deciding factor for a clock. When a player’s knee goes down, or player steps out of bounds is when the play is officially dead

That was awhile ago. Teams have had the clock reviewed for seconds multiple times in JHS just in the last several years.

I don’t know...Surely the only thing that stops the clock is the whistle there are no other situations that stop the clock in cfb...

No, it's just a whistle. The clock is electronic. I think it is a button that gets pushed.

Not saying you should?

Just felt relevant even though the other Auburn poster is correct in that it was a while ago and things have changed.

Nor should you. If Saban can get 1 second put back on why can't anyone else? Funny as hell he lost both games though.

You would think by now they had some ai that could listen for the correct whistle then in roughly within one second, Stopped the clock automatically. No more of these Auburn button pushers...

It was 100% bogus but loved it almost as much as ‘doink’ and ‘it wasn’t fair we got tricked’

That game was full up with glorious

What the problem was, was the replay, otherwise they would have never got the kick off. As it was, a second elapsed between the whistle and the ball being snapped. Eitherway, good for gus.

They have used that technology in basketball. Not sure if just experimentally or on a regular basis, but I remember reading about it.

It was complete bullshite, but you shouldn’t put yourself in a position to let it affect the outcome of the game.

I’m also not one to blame FG kicking. At this point we should know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Bulovas will never hit a critical kick. He has whatever is the opposite of ice in his veins. It’s on the coaches for continuing to give him the rope to hang himself.

Penalties, lack of discipline, and our new starter at QB throwing two pick sixes were the reasons we lost. Simple as that.

Either way too much focus is being put on 1 play. If Bama handles what they can control they win. 2 pick sixes and a missed fg.

It's another Saban Jedi mind trick getting everyone to focus on something other than his failure to have his team ready.

Agreed and most rational fans (I know oxymoron) would say the same Tider, but on the rant it's one extreme or the other right?

The timekeeper can force officials to review the clock—that's how.

Normally, but when a play is reviewed like whether a recievers knee hit the ground before he advanced the ball after a catch. Do they listen for the whistle and our the clock to that point or the point that the recievers jnee hit the ground?

Similar to the Delpit int against Aggie, he caught it and slipped, after the play was allowed to continue, it was reviewed.

He was ruled down and the clock was reset to the time his knee was on the ground
