QB GURUS: Does Connor Shaw throw off the back foot? His form is actually pretty good for a guy who's known more for being a dual threat QB. His form, timing and decision making has also improved over the years. He doesn't have the arm strength that Thompson or Mitch have, but he's a QB that during third downs can get the job done. He moves the chains well.
Good post

His Upper body position is odd, but his footwork when unrushed seems good. I think he is trying to put his arm back without actually drawing his arm further back.
Sort of a way to increase his power without adding extra time to his throw.

No, the year before the Bequette hit when bitchass Shaw was relieving Garcia to close out an arse whooping in Columbia. Shaw runs toward the sidelines but tries for an extra yard. Broken ribs May've been 2009 I guess?
And the Bequette hit was clean as a Lysol factory
Yeah, it was Bequette and yeah it did break a rib but it was unnecessary and out of bounds IMHO. Happened right in front of us on the West side around the 35 yard line. Shaw was halfway out of bounds and Bequette put a helmet right in his unprotected rib cage.
That's okay though - that's football. But it was an unnecessary shot.
Eta: What is it with Arkie fans and their propensity to want to bring bad karmic rain on their fan base and program these days? I don't think I ever really realized that their fans were this way until the past few months. Owell.

The out of bounds hit was Jericho Nelson, the Bequette was a sack that happened the next year from the blindside

If you want to see a reference for throwing off the back foot, see Jarrett Lee
