Tennessee still hammering out final details with Jeremy Pruitt, but both sides expect him to be officially announced as the Vols' head coach on Thursday. I'm also told the plan is for him to pull double duty and stay on as Alabama's DC through the College Football Playoff.
Considering we have CoDC Tosh Lupoi and the way things didn't go so well the last two times when Kirby and Kiffin tried to do it, I figured Saban might opt to cut Pruitt loose now. Maybe Tosh ultra involved in the game planning will make it work out OK this time. That also provides a backup plan.

Awesome. Double duty has worked so well in the past.

Yeah, if I was an Alabama fan I think I'd just want him to go ahead and go.
Didn't I read you have a Co DC anyway?

It’s a weird deal, for sure.
UT is gonna let their new head coach try to win a national title for their biggest rival... just seems stupid.

Sounds like sarcasm, but it did work out well for us last time this happened.

You mean when we gave up 40 points and 550 yards to Clemson the 1st time around? We won that game because of Saban, Drake and Kiffin.

well this just gets better
Fulmer knows having him stay as a distraction outweighs the benefits of early signing period

It gets Tennessee mentioned during the Semifinals and possibly the National Championship game.
I'm absolutely ok with this.

Won 2 games with Kirby pulling double duty.
Won the game Kiffin stayed on for and pulled double duty.
Looks like we are 3 for 3 when coordinators are pulling double duty.

Fulmer not that smart
Fulmer ruined Alabama football for the better part of 10-15 years for ratting on them for doing the same shite he was doing.
The man is GOAT at fricking Alabama.

The side of the ball with the guy leaving performed well 1 of the 3 games, and that was the defensive against a team perfectly created for them to shut down in Michigan State.
Kirby's defense was demolished vs Clemson in 2015. Kiffin's offense was a disaster against Washington in 2016.
Maybe this will be fine, but after hearing guys talk about the difficulty of doing both I'm a little shocked.

Yes, the last time we had a coordinator do double duty throughout the playoffs we won the national championship
