“I think if you had to put odds on, right now, if you say, ‘Okay, put me ten dollars on the next coach at Alabama,’ I would put my money on Jeremy Pruitt,” Finebaum said. “That’s assuming he has success at Tennessee, but I think if he has any level of success, he would move up into that upper echelon, because he’s got the ties; he’s got the understanding of the job. That’s the one thing people don’t understand about Alabama: You just can’t import a coach, let’s say (Washington head coach) Chris Petersen, as good as he is, and have him land at Alabama and be able to figure it out.

Probably be best to hire someone of his staff at the time to run things for a bit.

This is why they have to hire a full on Bear-worshipping, running of the Gumps Bama homer for their next coach. Any other accomplished head coach would be crazy to step into that situation.

Finebau, actually believes that any coach who was on Saban's staff is the next great HC waiting.

Pawl is just trolling for show ratings. Bama fans dick riding a TN coach? Will be huge for his calls.

Not surprising. Lane Kiffin parlayed a 7-6 record at Tennessee into the USC job, and he didn’t even have to deal with the aftermath of Butch Jones and Derek Dooley.

If Pruitt can get that disaster of a program to a bowl game, he deserves a shot at being Saban’s replacement.

People do not remember that Coach Stallings was the coach that was to come after Coach Bryant. Coach Stallings had given his word to (Arizona? or Dallas?) and would not break his word. Right after Coach Perkins left, Coach Bowden though he had the job (Thanks Joab )

Whoever comes after Coach Saban, if Alabama plays it right, there will be very little slide.

I would love to follow Saban if I was a coach. You would e stocked with talent. Hell, look what Larry Coker did at Miami. Look what Les Miles did with Sabans players for a few years. Look at what Lincoln Riley has done following Stoops.

Spoiler alert, he’s not going to win at Tennessee.
