I don't have a whole more to say about it. I'm no fan of Texas, or LSU either for that matter but the atmosphere of a campus stadium always blows away NFL venues.

Congrats to both schools for agreeing to it.

Big props to Texas for holding the game in a construction zone.

NFL stadiums thing is just about money. It's stupid if you ask me but facilitates a one game non home and home.

Indeed. Home and homes are the best.

The return trip next year should be even crazier.

Yes, I am glad they finally went back to this. Neutral site games effectively remove the campus experience from the Saturday gameday, which is part of what makes college football special.

Made sure to bring this up to the LSU fans I saw before the game. They seemed happy to be there and take in the atmosphere.

IIRC, I think LSU has had other marquee non-con games in the past, but in NFL stadiums. Wisconsin in 14 & 16 is the first one that comes to mind, and then also Miami last year. The fans I talked to seemed to enjoy this setting more.

Home & home definitely the way to go. Looking forward to BR next year

I've grown to hate neutral site games. Makes very little sense to me.

LSU played Texas, Auburn played Oregon, a&m played Clemson, and UGA will play ND. Then we have Bama playing Duke at a neutral site... At least some SEC schools schedule decent OOC opponents.

If it is something special you do once 5 years or so, then its great. If it is something you do every year (like Arkansas and A&M being stuck in Dallas) then the novelty wears off real quick.

The only folks who should play a neutral site game every year is Army and Navy.

I think it’s interesting that no ones pointing out that Texas has no choice because of the red river rivalry

They have to do home and home

they are terrible, home and home trumps everything over a neutral site.

Never said it wasn't a neutral site game. I think home and homes are better than neutral site games, but playing a ranked team with a heisman contender at QB is more impressive than playing Duke. The point I was making is that all of the top SEC teams play quality OOC opponents except for Bama.

I don’t mind the neutral site games every now and then. It gets lame when it’s every year though. A good home and home with a school like Texas is great.

There is no neutral site game’s environment that can compare to Saturday night

This. Dallas and Atlanta get old after a while.
