There is a rumor that Stoops offered a gentleman’s agreement to Gus that he wouldn’t play Gatewood against Auburn next week if he gets cleared because Gus/AU has been so helpful in trying to get him cleared. Sounds ridiculous but that’s the word on the streets.

Douche nozzle attorney stirs up crap, nothing new.

Kirby is no different than any other coach and the sec policy was agreed to by all members so....

Most of our transfers have been graduate transfers. Daniels sat out last season after being hurt in the first game and came from out of conference.

Disgruntled players at every ncaa school can claim toxic culture, it's the nature of internal competition between players and even coaches. Basically the nature of team sport, someone is always pissed.

Even low T, Choir boy Richt created a toxic culture at UGA.

Transfer, yes. Immediate eligibility, no way.

We have at least one objective poster. Do all the knuckle draggers on this board really want free agency within the SEC? That would be very bad news for all but the bottom dwellers.

It's hard not to take from this shot at Athens that Smart has been proactive in trying to keep Mays ineligible at Tennessee. Frustration was setting in after another non-transparent decision by the NCAA. I'd have to say that the appeal, as dirty as it's getting, is extremely effective. You just can't keep giving these QBs free passes through the transfer portal and put up the stop sign for so many other positions and then not have the integrity to show your work. Even if the player is transferring in the conference.

I suspect the shot at Kirby is a not so subtle message to Sankey to finish what the NCAA started and let May's play Saturday. I put my money on Mays hitting the field.

The old adage is still true, nobody likes their dirty laundry out there for public inspection. The perfect blueprint for whipping up on the big boys.

Mars got started by getting Shea Patterson eligible after leaving Ole Miss actually. We were the first school he set his sights on after the bowl ban.

Of course he is; that's what he's paid to do.

UGA issues statement
quote:

We cannot comment on student-athlete eligibility matters due to federal privacy laws, but we would be happy to share our full response to Otis Reese’s waiver request, if he provides a signed release allowing us to do so. UGA disputes any suggestion that it maintains an unsafe, unsupportive, or racially insensitive environment.

Odds that Reese/Mars actually grant that disclosure waiver? 5%?

It will happen in the very near future. A 1 time immediate eligibility no matter in conference or out.

As for Lois, most are 1 year agreements so no the universities and coaches should have no say. If you want say guarantee all for the entirety of their eligibility. If coaches can process so can players.

0%. Why would they? They control the narrative right now.

And the best players will consolidate to teams competing for championships even more so than now.

Why wouldn’t they? If all Bama needs is a new RB to fill a hole on a championship team, why would a player like Kylie Hill stay at MSU to get the ball 10 times a game? Free agency always helps those at the top more than the bottom. Even in this case, we essentially filled Reese spot with a better player

The NCAA is responsible for this kind of turmoil. Either everyone sits out a year or no one sits out a year. I prefer everyone sits out a year to keep team-hopping, team-shopping down.

Guys sign with a team, find out they can't start and then want to transfer and trash their former team, coach and university while going out the door.

You may have noticed a very common similarity in these transfers - they are not starters.

I would too, and I don't have any ill will towards Mays or Reese. But Kirby is not doing his job if he makes it easy for a good player to transfer to a rival and play immediately.

Heres a thought...maybe they wouldn’t trash their former team if they were allowed to transfer. They need to allow a one time only free transfer. It’s fair and it prevents the team hopping you speak of. They are 18 year old kids making a decision to go to a school where their contract is only year to year and they can be dumped by a coach at any point but they can’t transfer without sitting out.

Sankey just said the conference voted on the transfer rules, and short of voting for a change, the rule will be applied as agreed on....

I love all these bad faith responses, as if there's any validity to anything Tom Mars says about Kirby Smart.
