Speaking of Vandy, I have not looked at the east schedules. Who do you play from the west this year?

You will win the conference title.

ETA I say this because you also get Mizzou and Ky from your side of the conference. Sometimes things just fall into place like that.

I would be disappointed with less than 18.

I'll say 16-18 wins for Ole Miss. The pitching has looked suspect at times so far, but the offense is pretty damn good. Hoping that the pitching will get better with time, but worried about SEC play if it doesn't.

I keep up with all 3 in state programs. Southern Miss is damn salty in pitching and I think your guys need some outtings. I honestly think OM pitching will be way ahead by mid season from where they are now. The talent is there.

I agree with you. The talent is there & I just keep telling myself it's only February. They've just been hit pretty hard especially this past weekend. USM is always pretty damn salty - hell, all 3 Mississippi teams usually are. We just can't get over the hump.

It’s been frustrating for all 3 for sure. While Msu has recently played for a natty, our best team in history was in the mid 1980’s and a series of unfortunate events killed that shot.

It will eventually happen for at least OM and MSU and maybe even USM. Baseball is an exciting sport for me because a dominate pitcher, just one guy, can win you a game. In post season that is huge.

Southern Miss won their conference out right last year AND won their conference tournament title. It’s amazing to me how a small state like Mississippi produces so much good baseball.

I remember Ron Polk always tried to recruit from the southern part of the state. Not sure how the highshool talent down there is today but that part of Mississippi used to produce some awesome talent. It was a huge benefit for USM at the time. They had several highschools pumping out talent at the time.

It’s funny, right now our pitching is ahead of our hitting while your hitting is ahead of your pitching. So early in the season and for the years I have followed Sec baseball, these early games don’t tell the story of what will eventually tell us about who we are until 3-4 more weeks.

If I had to guess I would say 17 or 18 probably. We are young, so we will see how it all comes together.

Didn’t you guys just sweep Miami or was it 2 of 3? You’ve started off with a tough schedule. Lot of people here are in college and don’t know about those west coast teams. Long Beach state is usually salty and far better than a lot of non-conf teams we all play. You’re ranked for a reason tho.

I've got 16 for Auburn, need to get the young pitching up to speed, find a third starter, and have a couple more bats wake up.
