Nothing to do with LSU.
Any list of top defenses in the country that has tulane in the top 15 is total garbage.

Do I think we're destined to finish there? Probably not. But as far as preseason prognosticating goes, it's a pretty solid group to point to regarding why it should be in the top 5. On paper, we should be stacked on that side of the ball

Surprised LSU isn't even in the Top-25. I think this defense is going to be really good. Time will tell.

They lost a good bit too so it's possible.
That honestly is the worst list I have ever laid my eyes upon

LSU has the best defensive coordinator in the country. I knew he was the real deal when he was at Wisconsin. No matter how much or who they have lost, he'll have them in the top 25.

Not sure why I clicked on this once I saw Bleacher Report, but having these schools ahead of us:
lets me know the list is shite!

25. Appalachian State
24. Wake Forest
23. Western Michigan
22. Indiana
21. NC State
lets me know the list is shite!

LSU was #10 last year in Total Defense. They lost a good bit too so it's possible.
I'm willing to bet actual money with you that LSU will have a better defense than, idk, Wake Forest, who is ranked above them in this article. I have venmo. let me know, we can backchannel.

It seems like many people are overlooking the fact this list was probably put together considering the competition each respective team plays.
That being said I still don't agree with it.

Agreed.
App state was like #15 in total Defense last year. But continue to shite on the small teams and claim you know a ton about CFB, it's cute.

Sorry you don't agree but here, I'll break down those same teams TOTAL DEFENSE from 2016 (LINK )
Appalachian State was #17 last year
Wake Forest was #40 last year
Western Michigan was #26 last year
Indiana was #45 last year
NC State was #24 last year
So 3 of these 5 teams were or very close to top 25 last year. WF and IU do appear a good bit high.

App state was like #15 in total Defense last year.
and Tulane was 31
and BYU was 34
and Troy was 35
and Wake was 40
and IU was 45
and Utah was 48
and Northwestern was 60
So please, continue trying to defend this list

Arden Key sat out spring practices for personal reasons.
This has been brought up by several writers about LSU. What exactly do they think this means for our defense? Do they think he isn't returning? Do they think that missing the spring will keep him from performing well in the fall, like he needs the practice? Every writer who has brought it up has just said he missed spring workouts as if it were obvious that that would be a bad thing for our defense, and none have explained why they think so.

Why is everyone freaking out over a bleacher report projection article.

I guess you know why this list is shite.

Auburn has possibly the best front 7 in the SEC and returns about everyone from a solid secondary that could be improved even more....and we had the #8 scoring D in the country last year. Yet we're not top 25 on D? Yeah...mkay.

The best 4 Defenses in College football will be Bama, LSU, Ohio State, and Georgia........
This is from a talent standpoint which matters a whole lot more than stats piled up by App state or Tulane.
