Curious - how are you so confident in a year to year 60+ point swing in our favor?

During my lurking, I noticed your extreme confidence. I want to see what you see.

Make me believe, I want to believe!

Arkansas was something like 9-0 against State in Fayetteville until 2013. We've dropped the last three by 7 (OT), 1, and 7. Those three games were during a period of the highest highs for State as a program, and just the opposite for Arkansas.

Dan Mullen and Dak Prescott pioneered that period for State and they are now gone leaving State fans with inflated expectations.

Moorehead has one SEC road win, against OM 35-3. State scored a combined 10 points in their other 3 SEC road games. Not sure how State fans ignore this when evaluating their 2019 schedule.

Today, Arkansas' 2019 roster is objectively much more talented than 2018, and the opposite is true for MS St.

To simply point out our record last season is honestly not even worth arguing against without a deeper explanation. It's a naive assumption at best.

See, I guess this is where we disagree a little. I'll give you the home field advantage, and maybe that's enough. But the rest, I'm not so sure.

Are we better as a roster in 2019? Yes, some. Especially depth wise. But for the most part, it's the same as the squad we trotted out there for 10 losses last year.

Is State worse? On the D-Line, yes for sure. Everywhere else they seem the same or better.

QB is the ? for both. Neither of us really know what kind of production we will get there.

That will tell the tale.

BUT - there's a reason FPI, S+P, and Vegas all like them over us...and by a lot! I think this is a transition year for us. Mediocre, but not much more. We are still 1-2 years from being competitive imo.

Hate to be negative, but that's just how I see it. But, like you said, they kind of suck in F-ville so maybe that's all we need!

Not really sure how you can say that with how bad some of the positions were last year and what we were able to bring in this year. The QB position and WR position are not close to the same.

Eh, I'm not going to speak for Miss St. but it is easy to assume that it will be better. I don't expect to throw for less than 55% completion and more Ints than Tds.

Arkansas fans must forgot that they just went 2-10 and their coach has an all-time losing record.

Offensive production by player from 2018 to 2019 will look like your comparing different schools. O'Grady is likely the only caveat assuming Boyd is healthy all season.

You are the most reasonable Hog poster on here. According to Phil Steele the Hogs are #120(last in the SEC)on returning experience, while State is #84(8th in the SEC ahead of Bama, A&M, UK, OM, Vandy, and Ark). So, Arkansas is going to be very inexperienced which could be good for the long run but not this year. I don’t think casual fans,or trolls, who don’t know anything about our program, players, or coaches understand that we have a lot of talent coming back, plus we added KState’s top WR(Zuber) who was also the Big 12’s top punt returner. As you said QB will be the big ? mark for both squads. Most metrics, as you stated, have us between 15-20 in the nation. Yes, we lost some good players mostly on the DL and that will hurt, but we should be better or at least the same at other positions. I think we are looking at 7-5,8-4. Arkansas will be young and struggle at times, but if Chad is the real deal and has discipline they should improve as the year goes on. I see 5-7,6-6. State should beat Arky, but it will be closer, of course, than last year. Something like 10-14 points. Now, Arky could win no doubt, but it’d be an upset.

Eh, that person is really missing on some points regarding Arkansas. Not sure if they are an alter but "Arkansas is not the same team for the most part".

9-3 would be the complete best case . The are more likely to be a 7-5 team .

Damn dude he played against the numbers 16,23, and 25 defenses. That was Bama, Kentucky, and LSU. You know the 2,6, and 12 ranked teams in the country that were 10-2 at home in the SEC with losses to Bama(LSU) and Georgia(.Kentucky). No, Joe going to play at Arkansas worries me zero. Come up with something better than your misleading bulls hat.

Yeah, this is year 2. Offense should click.

Defense still has holes. Thin in spots.
