I’m thinking 5 years, 29 M to lock in O until 2024.

For those who don’t think an extension is coming, when is the last time a 10 win P5 coach had this few years left on his deal?

It doesn’t matter. LSU won with les miles.... les freaking miles. He was such a great coach that when he was let go from LSU he received multiple coaching job opportunities....
Wait, nvm. No he didn’t. Lol

I just hope they don't write the contract as O would say it. It would never hold up in court when they fire him and try to get out of paying him.

Lmao, I bet if you played a recording of coach o talking over a video of a diesel staring in cold weather, you’d never be able to tell the difference.

Check this out.
I think I found out where coach o gets his speaking habits from.

Thanks for the interest but I don't think his extension will be anything close to Jumbo's contract.

Now, don't you have a banner to hang for winning 1-7?

No, but i also don’t get my self worth by looking at 8 games over a 9 season period.

Honestly, what Coach O did last year deserves consideration for a contract that rivals some of the upper tiers of the P5.

No one saw LSU coming last year.

That was some good coaching by that staff - don't sell them short.

I think they'll extend him 2-3 more years and increase his yearly salary from 3.5MM (where it is now) to 4.25-4.5. Right now, he only makes more than Mason, Luke, Moorehead, and Odom. If you put him there, he's making more than Muschamp but less than Mullen, Smart, Saban, Gus, and Jimbo, which I think is fair and about right.

I don't think LSU needs to lock him into a Les Miles' type of buyout (and hope they don't, but Alleva...), but I think he's done enough to at least be paid commensurate with his contemporaries. His current contract runs through 2021, so I'd imagine they add 2-3 more years to ensure he can tell recruits he'll be under contract throughout their time at LSU.

And everyone at LSU expects him to get a raise/extension. We're just unsure for how much and how long.

So i do think you could be right about the years but I'm not sure he'll get a raise that pays him over $5MM/year

Nah, you just get it over one game that took seven overtimes to complete, hence your signature photo. Couldn't even come up with an original phrase/abbreviation, either. Typical Aggies. Always dickriding something/somebody.

I not only predict, but can guarantee you, that LSU will not make the same mistake that the Aggies made in overpaying a mediocre coach.

When he beats Saban and Jimbo, he should get the same they do...

He shouldn't get one yet. Has he done a good job so far? Absolutely. But I just feel like he needs one more year to accurately judge whether or not he deserves one. His complete lack of preparation after two weeks of time for the Bama game is inexcusable.

He has to get one. For recruiting purposes. 20 mil over 4 years seems about right.

I’d think that Joe would toss in an extra million for 0 if LSU scores against Bama in fake DV in 2020.
