Fairley was in the NFL in 2013.

I fricking hated Trooper Taylor...
He was also not a part of that game. His last year at Auburn was 2012.

As an Auburn fan who was at the both games the Kick 6 was a far superior game and far superior moment.

Ellis Johnson was the worse DC in the SEC during his time at AU. He cost AU two NCs.

Ellis Johnson was the single reason 2014 Auburn, a team that went 8-5, didn’t win a NC?

I wouldn't go that far, but that team would've won 2-3 games more with any kind of defense. Ellis Johnson was the reason we lost the Alabama game after putting up record numbers on offense and was what got him fired in the end. You can't put up 600+ yards of offense and lose a game.

The last time Nick “if I only had a heart” Fairley was seen in public.

Still my favorite picture of him!

2013 and 2014. Remember they were ranked 4th in the first Playoff Poll in 2014 before the Defense melted down against A&M. Same team that put 630 yards on Bama's D and still lost.

I remember losing Duke about that same time and he was our big play threat. Offense wasn't the same after that game either. Only put 7 up against UGA.

Melted down against an A&M team that lost 59-0 to Bama and scored 7 pts against LSU. One of the most inexplicable results I can remember though I didn't watch the game

Isn't that the game Fairley should have been ejected for targeting Murray under the face mask (IIRC, Murray was bleeding from the chin for a bit)? And then he speared someone else (maybe Murray again) and caused a bit of brawl with the Georgia OL?

The Kick 6 was a better play.
I’ve actually seen that happen more than once. Odell did it against UAB I think.
The Prayer was a luckier/crazier play. That pass was straight to 2 UGA defenders bounced off a shoulder pad and landed right in the hands of the WR in stride.
The best part of Nick Marshall clearly had no idea how bad his pass was. He gave that post game interview like he threw a fricking dime.

I remember A&Ms first TD. Ellis loved to play man, but he didn't have the talent to play it. A short slant and the WR goes untouched for 60 yards. He never adjusted that game and the rest of the season. Worst hire in SEC History and that is saying a lot.

Classic Jawja fan...makes excuses for losing claiming the opponent ran the play incorrectly.
Are you claiming that running 10 yards past where the ball comes down is the correct way to run that play?
It worked out of course but you're a damn fool if you think that's how it was supposed to work.
No dude. Marshall either threw it way short or Louis ran way long. But claiming that "my guys would have won the game if only your guys had executed the play you called correctly" is just embarrassing, again, classic Jawja, and indisputable proof Auburn's been living in your head, rent-free for almost 7 years.

The Kick 6 is a tremendous piece of football history because of the game itself.
Iron Bowl, denied Bama an SEC CG, and potential shot at FSU for a title... and it was a walk-off win after Saban fought to even allow for the try to occur. The Prayer helped make the Kick 6 even better, as AUs lucky horse shoe shined bright, but the Kick 6 had more value over all and proved more memorable nationally.
Had Auburn successfully managed to cap the season with a title, I think it would have gone on to be the best/most remembered play of the era and likely among the very top in CFB history.

It was a heartbreaker, no doubt. But a great, great game.

We dominated UGA for 3 quarters. Something we had not done in a along time. Then had to hang one for dear life at the end. Even though the catch was awesome, I left the stands thinking what could have been
I don't think I have eve done this before, but I was so mad about how Auburn was dominating us I turned the channel. I flipped it back over to the game after a show went off and Auburn was lined up for the last play. I did not even have time to check the score and couldn't understand why everybody in the stands was going nuts. It took awhile for it to sink in exactly what had happened.

Great game and they didn't even need a horse collar to win.

While true, without the Prayer at JH the Kick Six is moot. If Auburn loses to UGA Alabama clinches the West that night. Kick Six would have sucked for sure, but Alabama would have been in Atlanta anyway.
Pretty sure you are wrong. If Georgia had beaten Auburn and then Auburn got the kick 6, then Auburn would have gotten the tie breaker, so Auburn would have still won the west.
Am I missing something? Maybe I misunderstood?

No. We had already lost a game. Alabama was undefeated. If we lose to UGA, Bama is the West Champions regardless of the Iron Bowl outcome.
