Kirby Smart at number 2?? Jimbo Fisher is 1000x times a better coach. Hate to see him at a&m though.

Fisher couldn’t beat Malzahn last year, and turned FSU into a dumpster fire

What a weak crop of coaches. Saban,Jimbo, and Kirby are really the only 3 worth a damn.

Mullen too.

Jimbo is meh. He had to bail on FSU because he know more 6-6 seasons were on the way.

He also won a national title there and left plenty of good players behind for subsequent coaches to do a better job than they did.

I think Mason gets unfairly ranked in these lists... I think he is a good coach, he just can't get anyone to go play at Vandy. I know recruiting is part of it, but that's a tough place to recruit to.

Why does Gus make over 3x what Pearl does? Is he looking at other jobs that will pay him his market value?

Morris will surprise some people this year. From what I've seen on Twitter, with practice videos, this team will be much different. Not claiming anything, but we will do better than 2-10.

dumb threads deserve dumb replies

Fisher ain't #2. Only reason he's got an NC is because Gus doesn't know how to make adjustments

ETA: #3, oops

Swap Luke and Morris and it looks about right. Luke is the worst HC I've seen. Bjork has it made up in his mind that the HC should just be a CEO and all of the responsibilities should fall on the coordinators. The team should be much better coached this year with two former HCs as coordinators, but that dynamic won't last - who wants to work for someone that's vastly unqualified for the head position? Morris at least has HC experience and could not possible be worse than Luke. Most fans wanted Luke fired due to how bad the OL performed under him. His decision making as a HC hasn't changed any minds.

I'm an Auburn fan to the heart, but you do realize that Jimbo won a National Championship fair and square.

You saying Gus sucks doesn't take away that fact. Just says Jimbo was the better coach. Should he have not accepted the trophy or what? I'm confused

What I'm saying is that Mullen turning that dumpster-fire in Starkville into the first #1 in CFP history is significantly more impressive than Fisher sitting back in Tallahassee picking on a weak ACC for a few years before buckling as the competition straightened up

Likewise for Stoops getting Kentucky to finish the season with 10 wins and a top-15 ranking

I agree Stoops had an impressive run, I also respect Mullen and hope he does good things at Florida (except for this year when we play them) but Fisher still has a national championship and that means something. Also his recruiting at a&m has been lights out so far.

Either way he is in the big boys league now, let's see how he does.

No wonder the SEC has lost some of its football prestige. I can't remember the last time the vast majority of SEC coaches were this average.
