Arkansas' Carson Shaddy totaled an SEC-leading nine RBIs in his 12 plate appearances to help lead Arkansas to a sweep of Bucknell. He opened the season on Friday with a four-RBI performance, the most by a Razorback on Opening Day since 2005 (Blake Parker). He recorded a second-straight four-RBI day on Saturday as he went a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate with two walks as the Razorbacks tallied 32 runs. Shaddy added an RBI in the series finale and finished the weekend second in the SEC with a 1.571 slugging percentage.
Pitcher of the Week: Ryan Rolison, Ole Miss
Ole Miss' Ryan Rolison threw 5.0 scoreless innings, striking out a career-high 12 in the Rebels' season-opening win over Winthrop. Rolison led all SEC pitchers with his 12 strikeouts, and it was the highest number of strikeouts for any Ole Miss pitcher in the past two years and the most in a season-opener since 2008 (Lance Lynn). He caught 10 batters swinging and two looking, and allowed just one hit.
Freshman of the Week: Zach DeLoach, Texas A&M
Texas A&M's Zach DeLoach tallied seven hits during opening weekend and accounted for the Aggies' first walk-off win of the season, punching a two-run single to right-center to give A&M a 4-3 win on Saturday. He finished the game 4-for-5 at the plate. DeLoach logged two multi-hit games as the leadoff batter on the weekend, including 4-for-5 on Saturday and 3-for-5 on Sunday. He closed out the weekend going 3-for-5 with one double, one home run, three runs and one RBI to help Texas A&M sweep Rhode Island.

I was excited about Rollison coming into the season, even more so now.
