Why put a rematch of this game in place when if there WERE to be a rematch the Oregon v LSU one would be the one everybody'd want?

Here's how I think it could happen:

Bama loses on road to UF
LSU loses on road to Bama
UF loses on road to LSU

Each win all remaining games to finish 11-1. (and probably each in Top 5 BCS because of SOS)

Bama goes to SECC because of head to head win over LSU.
Bama beats UF this time at SECC

LSU would jump all other one loss teams and an undefeated Boise St because of the computers.

Also, Oregon wins Pac 12 and WV wins Big East for good measure.

I brought this up about 2 weeks ago and no one was interested. I think having two other BCS conference champs under your belt and a 1 point loss on the road to the number 1 or 2 team in the nation is ahell of a resume. it's also something Michigan and Nebraska didnt have on theirs.

the winner of this game (if they go undefeated) will face whisky in the n.c.

the loser has a shot at going to the sugar.

If we get by Florida this Saturday, LSU/Bama WILL BE the NCG.

doubt it, since Nebraska played in the BCSCG after being destroyed in the big 12 CG, I dont think pollsters will put a team in the game that wont will their respective division

Please see Nebraska 2001.

Things have changed quite a bit since then, and 2003 when OU got in. In 2006 OSU and UM didn't play for it all, even though they were 1 and 2 going into the game and it was decided by 3 IIRC. In 2007 nobody who watched football would deny that Georgia was the best team in the country starting in mid October but we didn't win the SEC, so tough shite we didn't get a chance.

In this case 1 of the 2 teams, regardless of how great their season was, will not have even won their division. Much less the conference. So no, they would not get to the BCS title.

The game is too late in the year for it to happen. Even if it was a really close loss by LSU, on the road like it is, a loss will drop them at least a couple of spots in the polls.

Just look at this weekend. There are 3 big ranked matchups of undefeated teams. Bama/FL, VT/Clemson, and Wisco/Nebraska. The 3 losers will not be in the top 10, and the 3 winners will be. If Florida loses then runs the table and wins the SEC, they'd probably get into the BCSCG. Same with Bama. But a loss a month from now, you don't have the time to make up ground.

People saying 0% are idiots. Now, is it less than 1%, probably. Say Alabama goes undefeated. LSU loses in triple overtime to Bama on the road then wins out. Oregon and WVU win their conference each with TWO losses. Everyone else in the country also has 2+ losses. In this nearly impossible scenario, someone name a team that would get in over LSU. Please just name one team that would get in over an 11-1 LSU.

Sorry butthurt Georgia fans but this scenario would be completely different than 2007 (and 01 and 06 for that matter).

I wouldn't want to see it. One team would have won head to head and won the conference. Give another team the chance to prove themselves. See Ohio State/Michigan 2001.

Computers only make up a third of the formula. If LSU loses to Bama, they don't have enough games left on the schedule and none against top 10 teams to work their way back up into the top two in the two human polls.

Boise.

And besides Boise, even if LSU loses under your scenario, they will likely drop to 4th at least in the polls. When Alabama, #1 at the time, lost a close SECCG to Florida, they dropped to #4. There won't be enough games left in the season for LSU to work their way back into the top two spots in the human polls.
