“I just said Bryce is going to play with the [first-team offense],” Saban responded. “Alright? So that’s the way it’s gonna be. How do you know that he’s progressed the way he has been? What have you seen to be able to make that statement, first of all? I mean, I’m happy with his progress -- I don’t want you to think that -- but I just don’t know where you sort of just can come out and make that statement.”

Reporters have not been allowed to watch any portion of spring practice because of COVID-19 guidelines. Practices during the 2020 season were also closed because of those protocols.

“But I’m happy with his progress,” Saban continued. “I think he’s played well this spring. I think he showed good leadership. He’s made progress. I think he understands the offense. He’s worked hard. So I can make the statement because I watch him practice every day, but I don’t know how much practice you saw.”

What about anything he said makes you feel that way?

Young is playing well anyway, so your argument isn't really valid.

I mean, he's correct. He watches practice and reporters are stupid. I think he would know better than the reporters.

I am interested to see what Bob has in store as an OC though.

This.

There's no reason to be faux-polite with "reporters", particularly when they talk out of their arse.

Does that mean LSU will only lose by 20 this year?

Correct. I you take Nick Saban and remove the a-hole, you end up with Mike White.

That's what you call keeping your press on a short leash, nickie. Obviously one of them got a little cocky with his questioning and had to be verbally backhanded...shite happens sometimes.

I respect Saban big time.... GOAT CFB of all time...

But I find it hilarious that reporters just let him talk to them like that... Perhaps it's just my ego, but the moment he began one of his little rants, "Forget I EVEN ASKED NICOLAS"... Conversation over...

I mean...they have a job to do and if they piss him off he can easily have their credentials pulled. Hence why they take it like men instead of being little bitches about it.

The press, as a whole, is NOT your friend. They make their bones by coming up with dirt on people and organizations. The higher your profile, the larger the feather in their hat will be if they take you down. That's what the sorry state of journalism has become in all areas and on all levels.
