Plenty of Rebels here were calling for Bianco’s immediate dismissal a few months ago

Soon after, he wins a natty. Congrats Rebels. SEC! SEC!

Given the dichotomy, what say you now?

Short leash extension? Bet the house on him?

He makes $1.2 million now, not sure when his contract ends. Highest paid in SEC is Vandy’s Tim Corbin at $1.7 mil.

He makes sooooo much money off Ole Miss Baseball camps on top of his salary. You think they’ll do more camps or less camps and attendance will be higher or lower now that we’ve won a Natty ? Seriously. He makes a shite ton from them.

Hell, I’ve got a pic of 11 year old me sitting on Mike’s lap when I went to OM baseball camp back in 2001 lmao

I’ll be looking at that in a lot more positive light now

Did’t know he had a side gig….just found this snippet from USA Today article in early June.

“compensation from a contract with the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation, a private non-profit organization that declined to release the agreement”

He should be dean of the business school. Dog is a hustler.

I was in my late20s when he was hired. I saw the state of the program. I graduated in 95. No one went to baseball games. He changed that. That is why we have kept him after not getting to Omaha for 14 years. And now his team pulled off a miracle. If you’ve gone through season after season of disappointments then you wouldn’t blame Ole Miss fans for losing their patience. He finally stepped up and proved us wrong this year. We are all happy he did. And we don’t regret the money he’s been paid for building a program.

I mean, I have no clue of the inner workings of Ole Miss baseball, but as an LSU fan, last year I wanted him because of the history he has.

That being said, with Ole Miss getting in last minute, that team obviously stepped up for themselves and the coach. I was cheering for them every step of the way after LSU got knocked out. They literally ran through everyone. I think it's pretty damn cool the state of Mississippi went back to back.

It says alot that he didn't lose the team and they went balls to the wall. Great job by Ole Miss they were awesome.

I assume you are referring to when we fired Franchione.

Or Sumlin.

I think we paid each for 3-4 years after we fired them.

I like Bianco.

Everybody except the Vols were rooting for Ole Miss.

I thought Arkansas had better pitching and was surprised the way Ole Miss handled the Hogs.

Deserving Champs them Rebels. It was worth canceling that Tuesday game at Arkansas State? Schloss cancelled Incarnate Word’s game the same week, then Bianco called Schloss to talk about cancelling Ole’s tuesday game. We both had RPI reasons, and we both got mud thrown at us that week, but Ole Miss probably misses the tourney if it had played that Tuesday game. Good move Bianco, he earned the natty.

I was sitting there last night watching Bianco unbelievably leave his starter in the game after giving up the double, then losing his control, and consequently the lead. My thoughts turned to the possibility of them losing the game, then game #3. I couldn't remember a time when a coach was being pursued with pitchforks and torches during the season, had such an amazing turn around, chosen as the last team in a 64 team tournament, then proceeded to win all the way through until the last game of the championship, leading in the 7th,only to make a bonehead non-move with your pitcher, and lose it ALL....then have to go back home to explain what happened (did I mention bringing in the same reliever for the 2nd day in a row, who'd never pitched 2 days in a row before?).
That'd have been the ultimate outhouse to penthouse to outhouse season that I can remember!
The Good Lord was looking after Coach last night...and the Ole Miss fans!
