I wanted to see which SEC player single-handedly kept his team upright as best that he could in a single season since the latest expansion in 2012.
For this project, I obviously added up each player's total number of yards from scrimmage in a single season then divided it by his team's total number of offensive yards.
Highest percent of his team's yards from scrimmage
1. 2015 Leonard Fournette (LSU): 42%
2. 2015 Derrick Henry (BAMA): 36%
3. 2015 Ralph Webb (VANDY): 34%
4. 2018 Trayveon Williams (A&M): 33%
5. 2018 Benny Snell Jr (UK): 33%
6. 2013 Jordan Matthews (VANDY): 32%
7. 2016 Ralph Webb (VANDY): 31%
8. 2017 Benny Snell Jr (UK): 31%
9. 2017 John Kelly (TENN): 31%
10. 2012 Mike Gillislee (UF): 30%
Let's break it down further
vs Power 5 teams
1. 2015 Leonard Fournette (LSU): 43%
2. 2015 Derrick Henry (BAMA): 40%
3. 2015 Ralph Webb (VANDY): 37%
4. 2018 Benny Snell Jr (UK): 36%
5. 2013 Jordan Matthews (VANDY): 36%
6. 2018 Trayveon Williams (A&M): 34%
7. 2014 Nick Chubb (UGA): 34%
8. 2013 Tre Mason (AU): 33%
9. 2017 Benny Snell Jr (UK): 32%
10. 2012 Jordan Matthews (VANDY): 31%
Now let's do ...
SEC games ONLY
1. 2015 Derrick Henry (BAMA): 45%
2. 2015 Leonard Fournette (LSU): 41%
3. 2018 Benny Snell Jr (UK): 39%
4. 2015 Ralph Webb (VANDY): 37%
5. 2013 Jordan Matthews (VANDY): 36%
6. 2018 Trayveon Williams (A&M): 35%
7. 2014 Nick Chubb (UGA): 33%
8. 2012 Jordan Matthews (VANDY): 32%
9. 2013 Mike Davis (SCAR): 32%
10. 2017 Derrius Guice (LSU): 32%
Some fantastic players on these lists. Fun project.

Be curious to see where 2010 Cam would fall on this list.
So many great players there.

How many Heisman's, SEC Championships, National Championships, or Doak Walker awards did Fournette win?

All those yards, no trips to New York City.

List should go back to 2008 to include Cam Newton and Tim Tebow IMHO

Not sure what you're getting at, all of what you just named are team awards.

Don't hijack the thread. All of this have nothing to do with the OP.

If we did just scrimmage yards, Cam accounted for 22%.
If we did TOTAL YARDS accounted for, he finished with 62%. I still have the spreadsheets up, and can try to run some numbers to see where that ranks (since it will likely be all QBs for the most part). Give me a sec.

Well he did get drafted higher and therefore received a much bigger signing bonus than Henry.

A receiver has to really ball out to make this list. Dude was a stud
The year Amari Cooper made it to new York he only had 1750 of Bama's 6800 total yards (only about 25%)

Whoa... so somewhat surprising results: Cam isn't in the top-15 for TOTAL yards if I run it back to 2010.
1. Dak Prescott 73% 2015
2. Johnny Manziel 71% 2012
3. Johnny Manziel 70% 2013
4. Jordan Ta'amu 70% 2018
5. Chad Kelly 68% 2015
6. Tyler Wilson 67% 2012
7. Dak Prescott 66% 2014
8. Nick Fitzgerald 66% 2016
9. Jake Bentley 66% 2017
10. Patrick Towles 66% 2014
11. Joshua Dobbs 66% 2016
12. Kyle Shurmur 65% 2017
13. Aaron Murray 64% 2010
14. Tyler Wilson 64% 2011
15. Joe Burrow 63% 2018
16. Tyler Bray 63% 2012
17. Drew Lock 62% 2017
18. Bo Wallace 62% 2014
19. Cam Newton 62% 2010
20. Bo Wallace 61% 2012
I can't go back much further since my data is coming from CFBStats and they only go back to '09

Interesting - I guess that makes sense as Dyer/McCalleb/Fannin had over 2K yards combined.

Bc something like 40+% of his yards in that big year came in 4 non-conference games.
