The Arkansas men’s basketball team looks for a 4-0 start for the second time in 11 years on Thursday, as the Razorbacks take on the Oklahoma Sooners at 4 p.m. CT from Portland, Oregon, in the first round of the Phil Knight Invitational on Thanksgiving day.

Arkansas will be facing one of the top freshman in the country in Trae Young. Oklahoma is favored by 1 and 53% believe Oklahoma will win.

The #Fastest40 Facts
• A victory over Oklahoma would give Arkansas a 4-0 start for the second time in the last 11 years, after a 6-0 start in 2014-15.

• In its most recent meeting with Oklahoma, Arkansas recorded an 81-78 victory in Bud Walton Arena during the 2012-13 season. The Razorbacks are 4-0 all-time against the Sooners in neutral site games.

• The Razorbacks have a +64 scoring margin in the first half through three games, leading Samford by 28 points, Bucknell by 22 and Fresno State by 14.

• For the first time in the last 70 years, Arkansas opened the season with back-to-back wins of at least 28 points.

• Arkansas’ 23 dunks are the most through three games of the Mike Anderson era. The next two fastest teams to reach 23 dunks were the 2013-14 and 2014-15 teams, which needed nine games each.

• The Razorbacks are outscoring their opponents by 54 points in the paint, thanks to 23 dunks, compared to just three for the opposition.

• The Razorbacks are one of three high-major programs in the country with at least six seniors on their team this season, joining TCU and Minnesota.

All four current Division I coaches with 15+ years of head coaching experience and zero losing seasons will be at the Phil Knight Invitational, with three of them appearing in the Victory Bracket.

Coach Schools Years
Roy Williams Kansas/UNC 30th
Tom Izzo Michigan State 23rd

Been waiting on this one all season. We either put the nation on notice or completely flop our shot at revenge against UNC. Hope we show up and ball out.

Arkansas should beat Oklahoma. Oklahoma was terrible last year. Yes, they added a very good few players... but they still look lost. Arkansas by 7.

Just to let you piggies know, y’all can thank Cal for not wanting to play in this tournament which allowed you in. We should be in Oregon, but he did not want to go.

And why didn't he want to go? Because you wouldn't have enough limelight on you? Just another fish in be pond?

From the recruiting standpoint, I see Kentucky thinking they're too good for this tournament and that's their sale to recruits.

Has nothing to do with it. Phil Knight wanted Kentucky, Duke, UNC to headline this tournament. Cal has stated he hates these tournaments during this time of year. When is the last time Kentucky played in Hawaii? I’ll give you a clue, it was already scheduled before he was hired to play in the 2011 Maui Classic. Cal has stated he would rather play the neutral site games (one game) at a future NCAA tournament site. I wish we played in these tournaments, but Cal does not want to. To be honest, I wish we were playing in this tournament, Cal declined and rather play UCLA in NOLA.

Like LSU did in Maui besides to Michigan?

Kentucky fans are realistic, we know this team has a loooooong way to go...2cd half last night was encouraging. I don’t think teams would want us in their bracket come March.

Thank You Cal for being too scared to face top competition this time of the year, I guess.

I'm sure its because his team is so young.

We were asked over 3 years ago if we wanted to play in this...I am sure Cal looked in his crystal ball and knew that this was going to be his youngest team ever, so he pussed out.

He does not play in these formate type of tournaments.

Good luck vs Oklahoma. Y’all should win.

Like Tennessee Football, "we're young" is the battle cry every year.

What was the name of the shite tournament on the Celtics old court in Mexico? Was that a different format?

Scheduled by Billy G. 2010 in Cancun

And according to KenPom, we only return 7% returning starters...I think this would be his youngest team ever.

And I think Cal’s success should not ever be in the same conversation of Tennessee football.

Thinking of laying down on Arky since OU is a slight 1.5 point favorite.

Shut down Young, Piggies.
