Is he out for the whole tournament, or just this game as a precaution?

The alert I got said first round. I didn't bother to read the article though.

“The specialists confirmed our original diagnosis that PJ Washington has a sprained foot and there is no fracture. Once we determined that PJ was not going to play today, they put him in a hard cast for precautionary reasons. He is out for today’s game.”

He has a foot sprain. The specialist found no fracture but felt a hard cast would be better for stabilization than a soft cast (so everyone is losing their collective shite).

My guess? He’ll be out the first two games.

Supposedly just tonight but we’ll see, hope just for this game. We’ve had so many injuries the last few years, pretty frustrating.

You're fine for today, but beyond that, I'd be worried

Calipari will be whining like a schoolgirl how unfair life is to the UK program.

Right. It should be a concern regardless. That's the kind of injury that doesn't take much to re-aggravate.

I think EJ and Richards have done a pretty good job filling in and we have Travis back (it really showed in the first half against Tennessee last week). That should get us through the first weekend.

I think we make it through this first weekend but not too confident after that if we don’t have PJ. Always something this time of year.

Yeah, it gets dicey after this weekend. Thankfully Travis is back.

I know you think Cal is low down but he's not gonna steal LSU fans signature move. He has some standards.

I agree those guys did a decent job stealing minutes against VOLS, but man I don’t like yalls chances going forward without Washington (I have UK in the natty for one of my brackets). The physicality of Reid and Washington makes a huge difference imo.

It’s definitely a concern after the first weekend since we’d draw the winner of Seton Hall/Wofford in the 2nd round. I think they’ve come along enough to cover that.

If I had to guess I’d say he sits tonight and Saturday. IF we happen to make it past this first weekend I say he’ll play next week.

Sprain - typically 1 to 2-weeks rest when there is no serious damage to ligaments.

The Tennessee game was 3/16/2019, so if we can get to the round of 16, that will give him until the 29th to rest and heal. I like the move. The first two games will be guard heavy play (Likely Seaton Hall round of 32), so this should benefit him in a lot of ways.
