Arkansas is hanging their hat on this talking point. Maybe he is, but you know who else is an excellent recruiter?

Well he damn well better be because since the AD terminated most of his staff and according to the local paper Pittman and only two other coaches are currently recruiting in the height of recruiting season.

He was Akansas' recruiting coordinator under Bielema and we see where that went. A little different recruiting to Arkansas vs Georgia.

For reals.
If you're outside the big six and you want to compete in the SEC, you have to think outside the box. You have to go get a guy that's going to run an offensive system that's unique and/or high scoring despite the talent. Think, Mike Leach, Briles, Georgia Tech, Etc

Yes let's just forget the success Broyles, Hatfield, Holtz, Nutt, Petrino, etc had.
What we need is a unique high scoring offensive minded head coach like, I don't know, like a Chad Morris.

We actually recruited OL very well under him despite Bielema going to the Bahamas instead of meeting recruits during official visits and showing up drunk to recruit's in-homes:
4* Denver Kirkland from Florida over Miami
4* Frank Ragnow from Minnesota (first round draft pick)
4* Dan Skipper from Colorado - flip from Tennessee
Sebastian Tretola (all-SEC and Jacobs Blocking Trophy winner for SEC’s best interior lineman)
Several other 4-stars as well but they didn’t pan out as well. Probably forgetting some. One reason Pittman left was because he got pissed at Bielema for his dumbass antics in recruiting.

I think recruiting to Arkansas is the toughest job in the SEC. Yet, Morris hauled in a #20 ranked class which was likely the best they've ever had.

The players hated Morris from day 1. A few gave up on him officially, most did unofficially. Recruiting may keep us from winning big, but it’s not the reason we got blown out by really shitty teams.

Disagree. Winning the West is not important to Hog fans but going to a bowl game is imperative but I'd agree on the three year limit.

At this point an SEC win makes the man a hero. He doesn't have to be a world beater right away, just don't make us one of the worst teams in college football.

Homesick, I was being a little facetious about winning the West, but yes if they aren't bowl eligible, there will be rumblings of SP being fired. Only thing they will accept other than bowl eligible? Beat LSU. They can go 1-11 and beat LSU and they will build a statue to him on campus

Remember when we were winning games under Bielema? Pittman was here. Remember what happened when Pittman left? Bielema stopped winning games. To those who follow the Hogs and our recruiting, that has been talked about ad nauseam. That’s been a well known fact.

It's also kind of important to be able to coach the kids you recruit. It seems Morris was historically bad at that.
