SEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

QB Bryce Young, Alabama Crimson Tide

Young's first year as the Crimson Tide's starter has been nothing short of exceptional. The true sophomore, who only got reps in garbage time last season, earned a 92.6 PFF grade in his 12 outings despite dealing with uncharacteristically poor pass protection from the Alabama offensive line. Young averaged 8.7 yards per attempt and tossed 15 touchdowns to only two interceptions when under pressure in the regular season.

The Crimson Tide signal-caller's 1.7% turnover-worthy play rate overall ranks third among Power Five quarterbacks. Put simply, he’s been the most impressive quarterback of the 2021 college football season.

SEC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

LB Nakobe Dean, Georgia Bulldogs

Dean is an athletic freak who has been a nightmare for offenses all season. He has made plays both as a blitzer and as a matchup weapon in coverage and earned a 90.0-plus PFF grade in both facets of play, something no other Power Five off-ball linebacker has done in a full year in the PFF College era.

Dean has totaled 20 pressures — including seven sacks — on 80 rushes, along with two interceptions, two pass breakups and 10 passing stops in coverage. He did that while allowing only 61 yards on 26 targets and 224 coverage snaps.

But on the Score Board I was told he was losing his NIL deal because he threw an interception.

Make them trade teams and see what the record would’ve been

I guess playing only 40% of your defensive snaps is frowned upon.

Bryce Young isn't the reason we lost to A&M.

He led the offense to 38 points.

We still doing this? Dude is on the run or getting hit on like 65% of his passes. He's the best QB under pressure in the conference. He's the best 3rd down QB in the country. He's our entire offense, basically.

We're still gonna act like he's playing with the 2018 supporting cast and OL? I'm guessing Bryce would absolutely love to play with a team that averages 225 rush yards per game and 5.04 yards per rush, not to mention two elite offensive playcaller and schemers. Would make his life a whole helluva lot easier.

Agreed. And Jordan Davis should have made first team.
But, they are going by their PFF scores and those can be flawed at best, so....

And I'm guessing Adam Anderson graded into being on one of those lists as well but was probably held off because of all the other stuff.

Damone Clark not on 1st team is laughable, but not on any team is just stupidity!!!! Find one GA LB in top 50 tacklers. I may have missed them LINK

Use some critical thinking. We don’t have any because our defense gets off the field, plus they don’t play much in the 2nd half due to blowouts.

Since LSU’s defense isn’t as good and they are in tight games their LB’s play significantly more snaps, and therefore get far more tackles
