It’s like the whole sec is being intentionally stupid about Kyle trask. Does anyone think uf Wins 11 without him?

He is good. Probably already at his ceiling. Just a taller Jake Fromm. Not very athletic. Doesn’t have an amazing arm.

Bo Nix was awful this year. He needs to transfer to a program that has a coach that can actually coach him up.

Agree there. Trask is a very good game manager but does not have elite arm strength or mobility. Kid did very well though considering we had a lacking offensive line and run game. He can't make a ton of deep throws, but he picked apart the middle of the field incredibly well.

I'm cool with Jones or Trask starting next year. See what happens.

I'm honestly not sure if any of that means that Trask is all that good. It likely just points out how bad Folrida's quarterbacks have been the last 10+ years

Yeah, Tim Tebow, Steve Spurrier, Rex Grossman, Chris Leak and Danny Wuerffel are all terrible Quarterbacks.

Trask has been throwing into passing defenses with almost no help from the run game for the majority of the season and still managed to beat every single name listed above in at least one category. He beat Leak's Championship year in every category except for passing yards where he only missed by one yard and started four less games.

PFF has clearly never watched Trask outside of maybe one game and has no finger on the pulse of Florida.

Trask rated ahead of Fromm and beat him in almost every single passing category.

He did this with no run game and starting four less games than Jake.

He had three more completions.
6.1 better completion percentage.
81 more yards through the air.
1 more touchdown pass.
156 rating to 141.
8 more rushing touchdowns.

He is considerably better than Fromm, and before you say "mUh rEcEiVeRs" we had very little help from the run game almost all season so Trask was throwing into way more coverage plays than Fromm was.

As I said, you are gonna be so pissed if you are wrong about these 2 qbs.

Y’all had the obvious passing advantage in 2019, but our passing game was better in Jax, so you have to wonder about Mullen coaching in the cocktail party.

Our run game wasn’t special in 2019, so it doesn’t make much sense to bring that up.

Fromm passed way more often on 3rd down, so that isn’t very advantageous. Both were about the same in that regard.

Fromm probably had to play in worse conditions, and with less available wrs.

As for the basic comparison, you know I am not a Fromm fan, but where so you disagree?

-Not athletic.
-Not an amazing arm.

I imagine they watched every single pass. They are giving Mullen’s system a lot of credit for creating easy throws, so that should make you feel good, yet you seem to be blowing a gasket.

Mostly that he's not like Fromm statistically.

You didn't have it in the South Carolina game. It can change from game to game.

I'm not worried at all about Mullen or the Cocktail Party. He'll turn it around sooner than later.

You should worry about Kirby never winning a championship in spite of winning recruiting championships.

So clarify this: is this you acknowledging the advantage trask had or dismissing it completely?

So reading is hard? It was never a statistical comparison, though their first year passer ratings are very similar.

Why couldn’t straws respond in a reasonable manner such as this?

Because having a "weak" arm and low mobility does not make him the spitting image of Fromm or a taller version of Fromm.

Especially when he beat Fromm statistically in almost every single passing category.

I agree on those two extremely irrelevant points, but disagree that they are almost the exact same regarding everything else.

Also, in other news:

Trask ranked #7 regarding returning QBs.

His numbers arent as good as Fromms freshman season. But they are very comparable.

That is good enough to lead a team with a good running game and good defense.

The questions pop up about the running game, though.
2 passing TDs is great when that is half of your offense. If you cant run for touchdowns, 14 points won't win you many games.

Can Trask/Mullen reinvent an explosive offense next season passing?
Or will the run game improve better than 100 ypg against ranked opponents so that Trask's 2 passing TDs can mean something in the win column?

Sure it does. Both have similar arm skills and physical abilities. Trask is taller.

Trask benefited from numerous things in 2019:

1. played in a more qb friendly system
2. played in better weather
3. played an easier schedule.
4. Played with a better and healthier wr Corp.

I am sure you will discount all of those relevant factors.
