Thanks Bo Pelini for coaching our guys to stick their thumbs up their asses and scream for momma whenever receivers run rub-routes to switch defenders.

I read somewhere before our game that Pelini had basically scrapped all coverage options except for straight up man to man because of all the busts and he didn't trust the back 7 to do anything else.

I read earlier that stingley has only given up one pass of 20 plus yards this season. He missed 2 games though. He doesnt get targeted much .

He did that weeks before we played you guys. And yes it's true. And when we'd put Stingley on Devonta you guys would switch up routes, rub rubs, etc. and Pelini didn't know how to coach our DBs to adjust.
Stingley was begging our coaches on the sideline to do something about it.

He's been targeted 30 times in 7 games (4.3). Surtain has been targeted 38 times in 10 games (3.8)
Stingley's long on the year is 28 vs Auburn. He also gave up 20 vs Alabama (I assume the Smith TD).

Yea...I mean I get the frustration and trust issues, but you can't play straight up man to man across the field every play in major college football against good offenses in 2020.
That's suicide.

Campbell played opposite a lockdown corner(Baker, Stokes) his entire career and his stats have reflected that

I remember when he came out with Surtain he was the more raw athlete of the two - has he just not turned that raw athleticism into CB skill?

Yeah that's part of it too

He's really good if he doesn't have to actually do anything but run straight.

Cox can legit cover WRs straight up
Would love to have him 1 more year

Yea - easy to see why people were high on him as a NFL guy. He does need to get a little better in the box, but he's so good at coverage that he could easily be a big safety who is used to cover split out TEs or slot guys.

Ole Miss with only 3 defenders in the worst lists and even got 1 in the best lists. That's a victory

It's possible that on a lot of the Ole Miss plays nobody was "assigned" to coverage since there wasn't an identifiable player close enough to the WR

He hasn't had the horses in the trenches for his 4-3 scheme. That last two recruiting classes have addressed that somewhat. I'm willing to give him another year and then let the chips fall where they may.

Excited to see what Andre White can do next year likely starting at Mike. I think he’s going to be a good one
