They'll never acknowledge it, but this is the only reason they're getting the kids they're getting.
Why would a big name recruit go to a coach that hasn't shown any real promise in a new role (Kelly, Heupel) or consistently winning and sending kids to the NFL (Saban, Smart)?

Here we again. Same as last year. All of the LSUcks fans are going to be jealous and obsessed with A&M's recruiting class and coaching staff. It will be especially bad this off season since Jimbo beat the shite out of corndog.

Petrino is an excellent offensive coach, but he's also a sociopath who doesn't like people, let alone recruiting. His ego would never allow him to work with Jimbo. Jimbo probably doesn't want an OC to take over the play calling, especially one that may come to look like a replacement.
