Peter King is soooo butt hurt he wants the NCCA to go after universities like LSU, noting "somebody in college football or the NCAA has to look at this...to allow one university to plunder a team's coach, in the middle of what might be a championship season.... we're going to move on, I could really say some things I know I'll regret."

So when ND plunders Alabama's team, spending $50 million to steal Saban and have him coach ND for 3 years in order for ND to win a title, would Peter King or Brady Quinn be as upset and want the NCAA to go after ND?

go after them for what? Is there an NCAA rule that prevents coaches and schools for discussing jobs? Seriously, the NCAA? King has lost it

This is all about contract law Peter. There's nothing the NCAA can do about it. Maybe he should direct his anger at the NCAA, not the coaches/schools, for the new early signing period, because that's why you're seeing coaches leave like this with signing day in less than two weeks

I hope Notre Dame somehow gets in the playoffs just to trigger people even more at this point

LSU whether on purpose or not, timed this perfectly to minimize the heat. A lot of these media figs are pissed but they can't really say anything when they already condoned Riley to USC

The national media cannot handle LSU dragging its nuts across Notre Dame.

They'll just say it's different because Notre Dame has a better chance at the CFP than Oklahoma even though both will likely not make it and both still have bowl games to play regardless

Extremely on point! The media always attacks, blames, goes heading hunting after the wrong individual or group. Does the media have any cheese with that whine?

Holy shite (pun intended). What I the ever living hell is Congress doing concerning themselves with this kind of meaningless crap when we are on a one-way track to financial calamity as a nation?

The biggest problem I think folks have is the season is not over. It may be over for some but not all. If they would just create a rule where teams have to wait till the second the NC game is over before talking to coaches head or assistant then that’s all you need.

I can’t remember but didn’t Brian Kelly leave Cincy before they played in a BCS Bowl?

Where was the outrage for Cincy?

JFC. Employment agreements are very common. Non competes are common. Universities can EASILY restrict a coaches ability for a year. Just has to be agreed upon when hired and put in writing.

Non competes are normally restricted to reasonable geographic areas. Case can quite easily made that D1 coaches recruit across the nation so this is easily enforceable in a court.

I’ve said it a hundred times. Do away with early signing day in December and this problem goes away. Kelly, Riley whoever could finish their obligation to their current team and LSU and others wouldn’t need to have a Ajax in place that quickly for an early recruiting class. It’s a simple fix without “going after” anyone.

They can't continue to have national signing day in mid-December and have a rule that forces teams to just not have a HC until January. If they moved NSD back to February and only February and didn't allow LOIs until then, maybe, but they created this problem with what they did to NSD. But instead of placing blame on the NCAA, they think the school without a head coach should just sit around and watch their recruiting classes fall apart until bowl season is over.

There was but it was mostly do to him no showing the team banquet.

You are correct.

Remember they took someone elses coach too but they don't talk about that.

That wouldn't fix it, then you're punishing teams because of the NCAA's early signing period. How is that the fault of any university?

a non-compete that covers the entire country would be very hard to enforce in a lot of courts. Courts generally do not like non-competes
