Pete Thamel live on ESPN just said 85% chance this happens. He says within a week we will know something. A lot of legal wrangling going to happen. 4 seasons left on Big 12 deal. Earliest teams could be in SEC is next season. Also said all parties involved are motivated to make it happen by then! Wow!!!

I've been assuming they already got the votes and were just waiting to make on official announcement. Wouldn't be surprised if we see something Monday

Someone leaked this to the media. And it was already done no doubt. That’s my take

How does adding a top 5 and top 20 team to the schedule make CFB miserable? I mean, you can hate the way college football is heading, but playing Texas and Oklahoma every other year in conference can not possibly be a bad thing.

I have to admit, this is earlier than I expected. Four seasons left on the GOR is expensive. I expected this next year or the year after. Makes me wonder if Texas thinks it can find some way out of it.

Southeastern conference. I want to play the southern culture southeastern teams we have played for decades. I don’t want to play Texas over Alabama/Florida/Auburn, and I never want to visit the state of Oklahoma in my life. You already know Texas will play cool for a few years, then get back on their arrogant $$$ bullshite. Don’t be fooled.

Texas and OU will foot the $70+ million buyout with a PPP Loan from the SEC. Hell, Texas is already on Arkansas' schedule.

Not sure if this is true, but rumor going around on Texas boards is that Tech & OSU might be going to the PAC soon.. and possibly KU to the B1G.

If 4 teams leave, the Big 12 is dissolved and this happens in 2022.

Probably not. I’m sure the hotel bar conversations while sipping bourbon have been going on for a while now. It’s just now that fans are finding out about it.

Norman is a good road trip. Nice college town. Pretty campus. Dedicated fanbase with a good gameday atmosphere.

Austin kinda sucks now. Used to be an awesome weekend trip, now it's full of homeless camps and 6th street is too dangerous to bar hop much after dark.

Total B-S. Good god man… you are in a conference and don’t know what the rules are? There is not truth in your statement. It takes 75% of BigXII to dissolve … 8 teams, not 4.

And a fan thinking they would be playing an SEC schedule next year is probably on the yellow brick road… it might happen in Oz, but…

Welp. It was fun while it lasted. If thamel says it’s happening it’s an 85% chance it won’t. Dude is the absolute worst

Also, don’t think that Disney-ESPN doesn’t have a seat at that same bar. They are probably paying the bar tab too.
