Bama fans don't complain about scheduling:
But Saban said it first. If Saban says it, its not bitching. Its the truth.
quote:
Last 3 years (09, 10, 11) count for each SEC team facing another SEC team coming off bye week: Bama - 13 UGA - 4 LSU - 4 UT - 2 UF - 2 Ole Miss, UK, Auburn - 1 SC, Ark, MSU, Vandy - 0 That kind of disparity is pretty crazy.
quote:
I mean, if all the teams were reasonably close it wouldn't be a big deal, but Bama is so far out ahead of everyone else on this it isn't even fair imho.
quote:
I agree these past two seasons we have been shafted with our schedule.
quote:
No other team in the SEC has a bulls-eye on them like Alabama. We have always been the team schools bank their season on.
quote:
The OTHER.... SEC teams need to navigate what Alabama had to last season and THEN you can bitch, you sorry mother frickers. No team in the SEC could have survived that and come out ok.
But Saban said it first. If Saban says it, its not bitching. Its the truth.

I don't think so IMO. I think A&M and USCe will become permanent cross division rivals and Arky will get Mizzou.
I'm pretty sure that is the case.

For the millionth time, it was never about LSU playing Florida. Most of the bitching is that LSU has played a pretty solid schedule for the last 3 -4 years with regards to the East opponents, while Bama gets two pillow fights each year. If Tenn even had a pulse in the last 10 years, there would be no complaints. Most LSU fans I know, love the UF game (including myself). We would just like Bama to even play one decent team from the East. I get the "tradition/rivalry" of the Tenn game, but at least give them UGA, FL or USCe during the bridge years to off set the dumpster fire that is Tenn.

The posts I'm talking about are the ones that keep talking about doing away with the permenant cross-divisional games which come up in threads multiple times in a day. It then eventually branches off into certain LSU fans coming back saying they like the UF game, but that isn't usually how the threads start out.
And again, just because UT is currently down doesn't mean that that will always be the case, History as proved otherwise.

Heck, it's the LSU folks that won't quit whining about having to play UF in every other thread posted on this board.
It's you and yours that keep starting these damn threads.

No doubt. But one cannot also deny that since the SEC split into divisions, Florida has also been the most consistent team in the entire league. Wonder when Florida will slip into one of those Tennessee depressions. Even Ron Zook took them to bowl games consistently.

SO.... Is anyone other than Matt Hayes reporting this supposed 9 game schedule??
Can't seem to find anything elsewhere on the internets but Hayes tweet...

Let's just go to a 12 game schedule...that would really get rid of unbalanced schedules.

Do you even know the teams played in this time frame? I am guessing not
ETA: Just so you know, past 4 years, sans "rival"
LSU- Vandy 2x's, UT 2x's, Uk 1x, UGA 1x, USC 1x
Bama- UF 2x's, USC 2x's, UK 1x, Vandy 1x, Miz 1x

The 6-2-1 format is the 6 divisional opponents, 2 rotating cross-divisional opponents, and your 1 permenant cross-divisional opponent.
I'm also pretty sure that USCe's permenant cross-divisional opponent will swap over to TAMU starting in either 2014 or 2015, while Arky will get Mizzou. I'm guessing they want to do that so they can try and foster a forced rivalry between Arky & Mizzou. Maybe they can calling it the battle of the Ozarks or something corny like that.
That would be fine by most Gamecock fans, I'm fairly sure.
And they can foster the SCAR vs aTm rivalry as the battle of the Independent Republic states.

I've said we should drop permanent cross division opponents but I also like playing Florida. IMO though the only way to get the schedules close to equal every year is remove as many scheduling restrictions as possible.

I'm pretty sure I've never started a permenant cross-divisional thread. Most of the time it is a fan of another school that post something (like with this thread), then an LSU fans morph it into a thread about how permenant cross-divisional games should be done away with, and how it isn't fair that they should have to play UF while Bama gets to play UT (who apparently is the worst football program in SEC history). That's when me and mine jump in, because we value our game with UT so much. Plus we have to remind LSU fans that just because we haven't played UF or UGA last year or this year, doesn't mean we never play them. Nor is UT the worst football program in SEC history. They are traditionally the second best in the SEC, and will probably be no worse than 2nd best in the SEC East in the future (I'll admit that UF has passed them as the best in the East, and it will probably stay that way).

Is it just a coincidence that Saban came out in favor of a 9 game league schedule this past winter? As I recall, most of the league coaches were strongly against it, LSU included; the Old Ball Coach was one who joined with Saban, however. The point is, what Saban wants, bama gets, for whatever reason. If you disagree, tell me one thing that he wanted & did not get. Serious answers only appreciated.

I'm up for a bet with anybody that Bama will play either South Carolina or UGA in the 2014 regular season. I guarantee this will happen.
