Does this take roster attrition into account?

Yes - it is the composite recruiting ranking score of the actual roster.

Now, it doesn't take into account the fact that certain guys haven't developed or are busts (Drew Richmond, as an example) - which is why teams like Tennessee theoretically have more talent than they actually did.

I'll take "44-16" for $1000, Alex.

- Alabama was #1 in the SEC West in talent - they won the SEC West

- Alabama was #1 in the SEC in talent - they won the SEC

- Alabama was #2 nationally in talent - they finished #2 nationally

Any more thoughts one trick pony?

It would be hard to quantify the bust factor

But we finished ranked 6 and 7 in the national polls

Surely, a Bama fan isnt saying conference finish is more important than National

Yea - new coaches taking over programs that were awful are basically exempt from this sort of thing.

So, by definition, 44-16 is under achievement.

And technically tied for 2nd in the SECW. So basically LSU was right at expectations.

And here's the Daily Double...

This university has lost to the University of Alabama 8 times in row, lost 29-0 to Alabama in 2018, and the university fanbase has been sweet and melty since 1/9/12.

This doesn't make any sense. Alabama had #1 SEC talent, finished #1. Alabama had #2 National talent, finished #2. By definition, that is not under achievement.

And 44-16 was not against a SEC school.......unless you've posted it so much you somehow convinced yourself it actually happened against LSU.

I guess - these numbers are just comparing finish to recruiting talent level. Not sure why they are triggering you so much - for the first time in a while LSU actually didn't underachieve.

Go back to just posting 44-16 every post, it's more in your wheelhouse.

Not triggered, George.

But to watch the team that breezed through the SEC straight up QUIT at halftime was repugnant.

Oh, so you are admitting what you said made zero sense.

Glad we could reach a conclusion here.

...and is the very definition of under achieving.

I think you just don't like the obvious answer to your own question.

Again, the whole point of this thread is comparing actual finish to talent predicted finish.

For instance, the #7 team shouldn't lost at home to the #2 team by 30. That would be considered underachieving. But that's not really the point of this thread.

No point at all, really. Just more gump wound-licking.

In the immortal words of Capt. Willard:
"I don't see any method at all, Sir."

More showing overall how the talent rankings are a pretty good roadmap to predicting the league.

But as usual, some of you are so obsessed that you immediately look at Alabama and can't control yourself.
