And the playoff committee used Ohio State’s win over Penn State in Happy Valley as the reasoning for them getting the nod over Alabama.

No, the reason they got the nod over the Elephants is because of Bama's losses were to cheesed!ck teams, and their wins over weak creampuff's was less than inspiring...it was so bad in the sec this year, Saban had to beg like a b!tch to get in!
If you take away Georgia, like I've said before, the sec is nothing more than a glorified Sun Belt Conference...

It's much more complex than that.
Psychologically, ranking Penn State highly allows fans nationwide to accept Auburn's sordid position without hesitation.
When the Tigers win enough games to play in a bowl, there wont be the slightest smudge of scandal mentioned. Penn State already fell on the ( much larger) sword. Just win Baby !
