Penn state has never struck me as a school that particularly cares much about football.

Their culture is about the blandest and plain you can get in major college football.

Yeah sure, but for the most part they are really meh in a meh conference. I grew up on B1G sports and PSU hasn't done much in the last 30 years.

Penn State (361) has more NFL draft picks than LSU (352). And that includes this year when LSU had a record draft pick.
Penn State (43) barely leads LSU (39) with consensus All Americans.
Penn State barely leads LSU with weeks in the AP poll; LSU has more weeks as #1.
LSU does lead Penn State with the NFL 1st round draft picks; the heisman; and conference & national championships.
Penn State is 2-0 against LSU. Only SEC teams they have a losing record with is Alabama, Vandy, & Florida.
