I was wondering why they pulled the tarps with no rain. Was there lightning? I would think that the home team couldn't just decide oo well we gonna pull the tarps just incase in the middle of a game.

Anything to get Nola off the mound and wake us up early the next morning for a chance

Pretty sure it's a home team official who makes the weather call.

Didn't someone in the other game thread say they were there and it was lightning before the rain?

Yeah some LSU fans at the game last night said that.

This is just a Draco bait/flame thread. Vote it down.

it is...and they said the rain was about to hit at any time is why they went ahead and stopped it...

if there is no lightening you play till it rains, hell they had already played with a light rain the day before so that just adds to this absurd call to stop the game BEFORE it actually starts to rain...

Plus it blew Nola's chance for a 5th consecutive complete game...

If there is no lightning, then its bush league.

SEC Commissioner Regulations 2013

Authority to suspend a game is vested with the game officials. Authority to cancel, postpone or terminate a game is vested only with the Commissioner or his/her designee.

It was a bush league move on the Aggies part, they're extremely desperate at this point to make a regional.

I'm going to give the Ag's the benefit of the doubt saying they wanted to give the crowd an opportunity to get home safely. That was some nasty weather that rolled through. Woke my arse up when it got to BR around 5.

You would think they were in second place or something.

I live in College Station. There was much lightning in the area. Report last night from KBTX.com (local TV), pulled from their website:
quote:

Storms moving into the area. Pea size hail and wind gust in excess of 30mph are possible. Nothing is severe but there have been numerous reports of frequent lightning.

It was nothing personal. Our asses were being handed to us--with or without the lightning. I'm betting that the decision was made, based on concerns for the teams and fans.

We were at the game. When they called for the rain delay, everyone was like WTF. The lightning was behind were we were sitting and we couldn't see it until we exited the stadium.
