What exactly did Forde say? What was the context?
On the surface it seems really asinine to insult someone's intelligence over a random comment, especially when it appears to have been a truthful one.
Assuming Forde meant he shouldn't have said it, imagine having a microphone stuffed in your face with people asking you random questions, and then having everyone pick apart and dissect every single word of each reply.
Come on. Give the guy a break, he's a hell of a football coach, his intentions seemed honest, and this has absolutely nothing to do with his intelligence.

how much of the the positives is due to the hurricane? I recall reading louisiana Tech was doing fine and then after getting swept into close proximity with lots of people due to evacuation some of the team caught it.

just watched the clip on YouTube.
Dan asked what he made of Coach O's comment about essentially the entire team has already tested positive. Pat Forde replied that was Coach O being more forthright and less intelligent.

Pat Forde wrote this about O on 9/8/19
“ He’s no longer just a Cajun Fred Flintstone caricature of a football coach, progressing from lampooned to celebrated. He is, dare we say it, advancing to the cutting edge (or at least his staff is).”
He compares him to Fred Flintstone , an unintelligent cartoon character that used brute force to accomplish tasks and goes on to discredit O’s success by suggesting that O’s staff, rather than O, is cutting edge. Who the frick identified the issues ? Who identified the concepts that were integrated into the offense? Who identified the fricking coaches and analysts that used those concepts and brought them to LSU? Who the frick Supported those new hires and allowed those people to perform? Who openly praised those people so that they could leverage their success into better jobs? Forde suggests that the CEO of an entity that has a vision, identifies the resources to bring the vision to life, actually implements those resources and then realizes success deserves little to no credit. I don’t think he really thinks this about the CEO of Fortune 500 companies, but clearly his past and present comment about O suggest he thinks this way about him.

If the LSU players have all (or most) had and recovered from COVID, then the press already knows it. And were ready to pounce a day or two before the Miss St game.
O was smart to get way out in front a sneak attack.

Anything LSU related instantly

I wouldn’t say he’s the sharpest pencil. Not dumb though

Two things:
1) No link, so you are probably not being 100% truthful
2) We all know the press is terrible at their job in general and need regulation

most people outside of Louisiana are biased as it relates to O. ESPN ran an entire segment where every personality made fun of his accent. USC openly stated that they didn’t hire him because of the way he spoke and they felt he would have a hard time relating to their alumni. The Hotty Toddy folks of the delta high society openly mocked him. Many other media folks mocked him last year as the Tigers made their run, insinuating that O didn’t have anything to do with the success bc he is dumb.
I am pretty sure that most people in the southeast like coach O.

Welp, chalk up another college town that Forde's dumb arse can't walk into a bar without getting lit up. He has to dress like a black woman to safely enter a bar in Auburn.

I remember reading his old column on ESPN 15 years ago and thinking “how does this dumbass have a job at ESPN? All he does is poorly string together forty things and mention BBQ”

If he would have said no comment or that infections were minimal he would crucified by the media.

Coach O is a pretty straight forward guy. He pretty much doesn’t hold anything back. Which is a breath of fresh air after dealing with Les Miles all those years. Les Miles was so secretive that he had all of the kickers wear the same number.

There are no less than 10 posts on this board per day that insinuate that he is stupid. Despite all of it , he grins and takes it. He never complains about people’s perception of him or otherwise cries out for social justice
I never thought Ogeron was stupid. You can't run a big time program like LSU and then get to the top of the mountain being dumb

Forde should stick to Pac 12 women's swimming.

Pat Forde is an elitist douchebag, so this shouldn’t surprise anyone. The national media think the south are a bunch of dumb hicks.

Yeah. Did he actually say that O was unintelligent, or just that it was a dumb thing to say?

Forde is a bona fide moron.
Besides, I think O's quote was that "most" of the team has had the virus. As in more than 50%, technically speaking. I guess Dan Patrick didn't actually read much either.
