Honestly they are irrelevant they need to just shut up and go away...

I think it's them and their big mouths may have played a part in the pac-10 12 bowing out, they made their bed now sleep in it

they have nothing to do with the SEC the big 12 or the ACC now just shut the fuk up

I just don't see how "amateurs" think they're entitled to a union. Advocates maybe but not a full on union.
If they dont like how the PAC 12 does things, transfer out of it.

I think it's interesting that they are framing this as their conference being "woefully unprepared" and essentially still feeling like they should play.

The blow-back on the Pac-12 and B1G might be something to watch if other conferences play.

It has already begun (the blow-back) and I expect it will gain momentum whether a season happens or not - as the PAC 12 will shoulder much of the blame for no football, as it should.

Except that the conference officials didn’t decide this. It was the schools themselves.

They are scrambling and moving the goalposts in an effort to stay relevant.

It’s well known the Pac12 has terrible leadership. These players should have chosen to play at a school in a different conference if they wanted competent leadership.

College athletes are not at risk due to Covid-19. End of story.

like all liberals, they refuse to acknowledge the fact it's their own actions that led to the state where they are now and in true liberal fashion looking for someone to blame...

Wait till next year when they cry because the NCAA didn't give them an extra year of eligibility. Don't see how the NCAA can if other conferences are playing. Could be wrong.

I think it's kind of their whole point that they don't want to be considered "amateurs".

College football amateurism is a fiction created by the NCAA so that it doesn't have to pay players.

They have zero leverage (outside of media personalities shilling for them to create chaos and a “story”). It’s amazing to me how out society impresses on kids today how mistreated they are.

You don’t have to play guy.

Players get compensated very well. Unbelievably well.

They don’t have to play.

Why does everyone need some vague, unexplained reason to bitch and "ask for change" now?

they need to turn their efforts towards the NFL and gaining entry as 18 or 19 year olds. colleges are now closer to dropping scholarships and returning to student athletes

Lol the idiots still don’t realize that all the talk about players unions is part of the reason why the pac 12 and big 10 cancelled

Sure they could do that. I don’t know that the NFL is willing to sort through the high school recruitment process like colleges do. Dominant players in high school regularly flop in college. Not to mention 19 year olds are no where close to physically mature enough for the NFL game.

There really isn’t a financial incentive (see XFL flops) either.

The reality is 10% of college players at most even have a shot at the NFL, and on the off chance they make it the career span is an average of 2.5 years.

A free education is not a bad trade off for your talents.

It was actually a great setup for the players, the schools AND the NFL.
