Sources: Las Vegas Bowl will pit Pac-12 vs. another Power 5 league (SEC most intriguing possibility) in 2020 in Vegas’ new NFL stadium.

While this is great for the SEC, it's bad for college football. The Playoff all but guaranteed this. Total Bowl Viewership has essentially flat lined, and the viewership is consolidating to the top 8 games. This trend will continue and revenue will dry up.

More bowls, not less.
More football = good
Less football = bad

And the Las Vegas Bowl exists. They’re just changing conferences.

I still remember Nutt having to drag half the team from the casino after an all nighter binge fest in order to make it to the stadium in time for the game during Arkansas's trip to the Las Vegas Bowl.

Those 15 extra practices is how you develop your underclassmen. It's great for the on field product of the sport.

They should rotate the national title there. That’d be a fuching awesome trip.

The total number of bowls for the SEC stays the same, sure. But there were less bowls last year than there was the in the 2015 and 2016 Bowl seasons.

The current system reduces the amount of meaningful football. More meaningful football = good. But that's not what this is.

Agreed.

It doesn't matter if it's not a New Years Bowl. Bowl viewership for the "non-premier" bowls is down 20 million viewers the last 4 years. This is literally rearranging deck chairs on the titanic, but just going a floor up.

Where would this bowl fall in the SEC bowl hierarchy?

Are we talking a "Georgia- Stanford" type matchup? Or a "Kentucky - Colorado" type game?

Does it really matter what the teams hovering around .500 are doing? How that that affect the amount of "meaningful football?" More football = good.

So? More football = good. Give me more Wednesday December 21 3:00 p.m. games. I don't care. Again, more football = good.

I like all bowl games. Random matchups, all on tv. Usually doing pick em. I'd watch 100 of them. Ok not watch, that doesn't actually happen, but generally pay attention to most and watch a bunch.

It would mean that either Birmingham, Memphis or Shreveport would get shite canned

And hopefully, either Charlotte or Tampa or Nashville would be pushed down a tier

We need the Birmingham Bowl to troll the six win teams in the conference. It is by far the worst destination of all the bowls, for all of the teams. It is the perfect punishment for mediocrity.

The amount of Coke and Ectasy in the crowd will be ridiculous .
Could you imagine UF vs ASU.
