No, that would be bad. Teams would have motivation to cancel games. Imagine Alabama leading the country and then the Iron Bowl comes up. Would be easy for them to opt out (though I guarantee Saban would never do that -- Dabo, Ryan Day and Lincoln Riley -- I wouldn't put it past them).

The question was asked on one of the College Football Live broadcast, “How many games to qualify?”
It sounds like they have left this open in case teams start having cancellations and will let the committee decide if a team is deserving. So I think a better question is, Does a 10-1 SEC Champ (or even 10-1 SEC runner up) deserve a spot over a 8-0 PAC 12 Team. Big 12 has already proven their conf wins will mean very little....is this the year a SunBelt Team makes the playoff? Does OU get in again for another embarrassment? Does the committee swing for the fence and make a 8 Team Playoff...?

Best thing that happened this season for USC was having the Bama game cancelled. That game would have been ugly midway first quarter.

This is good. I want everyone to play. They won’t get a team in the playoff, but it would be great for the players, coaches, fans etc. why would I be against football?

Of that coaching list, Lincoln Riley is the only one I believe that would pull that shite. Dabo already has a massive chip on his shoulder because he's in the ACC and he absolutely hates it when people call out the obvious fact he has a cakewalk ride into the playoffs. Ryan Day is one of the few Big 10 coaches who had the stones to publicly stand up to the cancel cultists...no way he'd duck.
