Meanwhile the drama around our head coach at Arkansas is what type of cold beer he likes after winning a game.

Or, if it is basketball, whether he is going into the stands to beat up an obnoxious SDSU fan.

Slightly envious.

Well doesn’t that give Ole Miss fans the warm and fuzzy’s. He 100% left himself an out.

I posted this last night and I’ll repeat it here…

quote:

Anyone who believes anything about Lane before at least the end of the Iron Bowl or perhaps Sunday, either about him staying or going, is gullible.

None of us have any idea what he’s going to do. We don’t have “insiders”, and even if you think you do, they, like you, don’t know jack shite. Our only role in this dance is as spectators. All we can do it wait and see.

And this Outkick story doesn’t change anything. My best guess, based on Lane’s statement last night is:

1. Technically he doesn’t plan to to leave, at least of last night.

2. That can change if (1) Auburn extends an offer and (2) Lane likes the offer.

Considering the Egg Bowl is tonight and the Iron Bowl tomorrow, the earliest Auburn would make an offer (that is if they’re going to make an offer at all) would most likely be Saturday after the Iron Bowl or Sunday. So, until then, we don’t know if Auburn will make an offer or if Lane will accept it. All we can guess at this point based on how Lane is hedging his words by saying…

quote:

unless something significant changed in the immediate future

Is he is at least open to considering an offer from Auburn? Seems that he is. Will that offer come? We don’t know. Will he accept that offer if/when it comes? We don’t know.

But by Sunday we should. Until then all this Lane talk is nothing more than mental masturbation.

It may as well be with so many people making absurd declarations one way or the other on what will happen as though they know.

SEC says Freeze isn’t an option.

People can believe what they want but what went down at Ole Miss was close to being a federal investigation due to Freeze. There is a reason that many SEC jobs have come open and not a single one legitimately interviewed him.

Nope. He has his warts. Hopefully he can shed some and grow as a coach at Ole Miss.

IMO, Lane played social media once again!
Nothing suggested he was unhappy at Ole Miss and he wanted to leave.
"Happy Turkey Day you Turkeys", it could be said by Lane!

There will be no “offer” unless Auburn knows from Sexton that Kiffin will accept. The terms will have been worked out in negotiations with Sexton in advance, but no formal offer will come unless Sexton tells Auburn that Kiffin will accept. You can be sure that that Sexton has been negotiating with Auburn, however.

Auburn has to get their ego kicked when they search for coaches. We go through this shite show every time. They start at the top and have to get told they over-value themselves before ending up with some middle of the pack guy.

Can you provide info of a time we didn’t get “our guy” besides Harsin?

That Outkick story has enough outs and loopholes to say absolutely nothing. No one knows anything yet. Why do people fall for these kinds of stories all the time?

Auburn had No direct negotiations with CLK. Someone from Auburn would have contacted Jimmy Sexton and found out any interest in the Auburn job. Everything goes through JS. If he’s going he will probably sign an agreement Friday?
Afterall he has not said he has no interest in the Auburn job and is staying at Ole Miss.
I think he’s going but that’s just one man’s opinion.

I spouted off on here last night before hearing about Lanes daughters wanting to stay put. I should know it's not a fine deal until it is.
If that's the case good for Lane and Ole Miss. I do find it interesting that the Ole Miss crowd on here have been abusing him the past few days and now will beat their chests.
If he stays I don't think it's because Of disfunction or anything negative on Auburn. Lane would not have taken it as far as he did. Until contracts are signed it's still open.
Freeze (despite the holier than thou crowd) will work his butt off and the move to Auburn would mean more to him and Auburn in the long run. Freeze recruits Georgia well and is connected to the Atlanta schools. Scoff and joke about him but he has been honest with high school coaches, recruits and their families.
Freeze would do well at Auburn.
