Big news out west as John Higgins, long considered one of the top CBB officials in the country, is now the Coordinator of Officials for the Basketball Officiating Consortium.
Higgins will oversee recruiting, selecting, developing, evaluating and assigning officials for every men’s basketball game hosted by schools in the WBOC, which comprises the PAC-12, Mountain West, WCC, Big Sky, Big West and WAC.
This also means Higgins is done with on-court officiating.

I will never forgive him for the shot clock violation he missed against Wisconsin.
Or the time he screwed Arkansas against UNC.
The man was a raging terror against the SEC in the NCAA tournament.. allegedly.

That whole UNC Elite Eight game for us as well. The one that ended up with the lawsuit against KSR over his roofing company getting bad reviews.

I've never seen fans of other programs bitch so much about officials than UK fans do.

It’s crazy how much we outplayed UNC that day and just how bad the calls were late.
I’ve only truly complained about 3 officiated games ever:
- ‘09 Florida (football)
- ‘10 ASU (baseball)
- ‘17 UNC (basketball)
Other than that, calls generally went both ways with a lean one way or another that just goes with the game. But those 3 I can say the calls dictated the outcome of the game.
