Jimbo has never really used the portal much so it will definitely be interesting.

It's basically a part of recruiting.

Also interesting that they don't seem to have nailed down the OC hire yet.

What does A&Ms recruiting look like this year? I know Jimbo hasn’t been a portal guy, but this has unfortunately become part of the game now.

So 7 players leaving for greener pastures? We could borrow some. I think OK wants some too since y'all can't really give them post-season play.

Anemic.

Good players but only 11 commits so far and no offensive skill players.

The commits we have are really good, there just aren’t many (11). Severely lacking offensive skill positions. As in 0. Not surprising considering Jimbo’s flaming turd of an offense last few years. Hopefully there is still enough time to sell new OC’s vision and pull some skill positions from portal and flip some HS prospects.

No choice but to hit portal for a QB, WR, OT. Need to get Hill back in the class and take LB from portal regardless. If we do all that we will be ok.

Thus far, everyone leaving has been a behavioral issue or buried on depth chart.

That's a tough sell right now. Offensive minded moron head coach on a sinking ship. Seems like a career killer to jump in that mess right now.

I like you Ingus but there has been nothing done or said that suggests Jimbo is about to hire a stand alone OC and let him 100% run the offense.

He may let him call plays (with final approval coming from Jimbo) but they are likely not changing the system or anything.

Which is okay, maybe it works out.

Unless guys are returning bc they are homesick I don't see the attraction to go to A&M

Not really. Only way to go is up for that offense. Anyone with half a brain will turn it around. You’ll have a lot of talent to work with and get paid well whether Jimbo gets shite-canned or not.

Or you come in, Jimbo meddles, the results are bad, and you become the scapegoat after a year or two.

Kind of like Orgeron's later coordinator hires, he could only find people who were getting a massive step up or retreads because no one wanted their reputation associated with that.

His portal game is comparable to his passing scheme… in a word… archaic!

There has been nothing done or said either way. The new OC would get that clarified before he accepts the job.

According to Liucci, the new OC will be the play caller. However, Billy is not right all of the time.

I think it will be kind of an underwhelming hire like Phil Longo or someone in that vein who will "call plays" then they will be filtered by Jimbo and he will make the final decision.

The OC will be more of an assistant to Jimbo than a CEO of the offense.

A chance to play in the SEC on the biggest stage against the toughest competition in the country should never be understated. Add that along with great facilities, fan support, post grad degree from A&M, and a chance to make some money in the process... I see the attraction. You still have to play for Jimbo and be part of the weird culty atmosphere but I see it.

Whoa, this is the rant sir. Every other fanbase is trash, their school is trash, you cant see why any sane person would ever go anywhere but your own school.

What exactly are you playing at here??? Do you want chaos?
