Expected Points Added Definition
The theory behind Expected Points Added (EPA) is simple. The statistic is used to try and define how many points a player or play is worth to a team.

Every play is considered with context in mind, meaning down distance and field position are used to evaluate the amount of EPA compared to the actual result of the play. These statistics can be added to create a cumulative EPA over the course of a time period or season, or it can be viewed by EPA/play.

I wasn't expecting our pass defense to be this good, but the final pieces are in place. I don't know how long Branch is going to be out or how big an impact that will be, but hopefully he's back soon.

If Eboigbe and Young can get healthy again with Oatis coming on at DT that defense is ultra elite as long as Branch is alright after getting dinged Saturday.

This doesn’t support the Rant hypothesis that we are the 4th best team in the SEC

Are pass interference calls factored in the pass defense metric?

UGA is fine you just need someone to step up to complement Bowers downfield and your offense will start clicking again.

It is amusing how people are pointing to the number of rushing yards Alabama gave up, but that was on 51 rushes (187 yards) and a total of 85 offensive plays for Arkansas. You start delving into true analytics and it wasn't a bad defensive performance at all, and Alabama made mistakes to extend drives that should have ended well before they did (Henry's push in the back comes to mind).

No doubt.

Although one difference is that the Texas game was close was because Texas actually played as good as Bama. The reason our game was close was turnovers and red zone issues.

Total Yards
Alabama- 374
Texas- 371

Total Yards
Georgia- 492
Mizzou- 284

I knew State’s passing defense was good this year, but I didn’t expect it to be quite that high. The really interesting stat was the balance on offense

I just meant general "they suck" opinion of each team at that point in time by the geniuses on this board.

Based on this, LSU vs. Tenn should be a damn good game.

If the Alabama defense has taught us anything, it's that if you are getting torched, you just need to hurt the opposing teams QB.
