OOC rivalry games

Saban recently alluded to Alabama's scheduling of OOC home-and-home series with FSU as something he would like to see more of, meaning SEC and ACC rivalry games on a permanent basis.
UGA, UK, SC, and UF already have regular season in-state rivalries with ACC opponents, but that leaves 10 teams without one and no real natural rivalry to pursue. However, there are some OOC rivalries that could make sense to some.
I like the Alabama-FSU game if FSU is willing to play 2 SEC teams annually, which might not be an easy sell. Tennessee and Virginia Tech or UNC would be a natural fit, as they are states that share borders and their campuses are not that far apart. Vanderbilt had a fairly long run with Wake Forest a few years back, and that could be rekindled, or Duke could be an interesting match from the similar academic position. After that, the ACC pool begins to get thin for creating good matches without doubling up on a few teams, but Auburn and Miami could probably gin up a pretty good game most years. For Mizzou, LSU, Arkansas, A&M, and the Mississippi schools, looking westward to the Big XII might work. Renewing the Missouri-Kansas affair would be a fantastic idea, and the same for Texas A&M vs. Texas. LSU-Oklahoma and Arkansas-TCU or maybe Baylor could work. For the lack of any other immediate clash coming to mind, Ole Miss-Texas Tech and MSU-Oklahoma State.
What say you?

LSU isnt going to schedule a rivalry with Oklahoma.
Mizzou was close to getting a rivalry with Illinois. Didn't happen, but I think both ADs were talking. I dont think Mizzou likes kansas. So much so that a rivalry game would probably not happen.

Maybe there isn't enough benefit to schedule the Kansas "Border War" again, but dislike isn't a good enough reason. I don't thing Georgia like Georgia Tech or Alabama likes Auburn either.
Didn't Georgia play Clemson every year, or almost, before SEC expansion?

We played VA Tech a few years ago. We did a home and home with Oklahoma in 2014 and 2015 and we're starting a new home and home with them next season 2020 and 2024.
Tennessee has always scheduled really good OOC matchups and it's given us the opportunity to play against great teams and travel to interesting places. I'd hate cutting into that with a permanent OOC. I like the fact that we've always scheduled and played solid teams from all over the country like Oregon, ND, Oklahoma, Cal, Va Tech, NC State, etc. Because of that, I don't think we'd benefit from a perma-OOC but instead lose out on all the great series we've enjoyed.

Tennessee has played some good home-and-home series both recently and historically, but the intent here is not to supplant that idea with a permanent OOC rival, but to add to it. The large piles of cash involved with playing the neutral-site match-ups to open seasons has been too much of an allure to pass up for Alabama the last decade or so, but the bloom has faded off that rose to an extent. Personally, I would welcome playing one of those every so often, along with a home-and-home with an FSU, Miami, VaTech, or Clemson annually. If not a neutral site game, then play an OOC rival and a rotating home-and-home with some of the PAC-12 or B1G schools too. As an Alabama fan, I really enjoyed the 10-year series we had with Penn State that began with Coach Bryant and Joe Paterno, and the UT-UCLA games that the Vols had a few years back were excellent.

I gotta say this is one extremely dumb statement.
I think the word "rivalry" is stretched way too thin and watered down in an attempt to drive tv ratings and attendance.
Tenn. and V Tech/UNC is not a "natural rivalry"
Alabama vs. FSU is not a "natural rivalry"

MSU-Oklahoma State.
The last time around didn't go so well, but I could get behind this.
I'd like to see us schedule a home and home with Iowa, Iowa State, or Baylor from the Big12.
You could call Iowa vs. State the Battle of Hospitality.
Still waiting on the Michigan State matchup to see the MSU vs. MSU matchup.

Tennessee should get the team that's the best team in the state of Tennessee this year. Memphis is the only school that makes sense, and it carries over to basketball as well.

You don't understand the post. Dislike is a polite way of putting it. They hate each other too much to sit across a table from one another.

We played tons of teams annual (or near annual). Clemson and South Carolina were both regulars on the schedule.

I think alternating conferences for OOC would be great. SEC plays home games v B10. Schedule 3rd week of September and all SEC teams play B10 teams matched by conference rankings at end of previous year.
Next year SEC v PAC12. Next year ACC. Then repeat with games at other conference. Cancel FCS games and let any OOC rivalry games stand.

Auburn vs Miami....oh, yeah. Thugs vs. the Mugs. Beatdown of the lowlifes. Too exciting.

Thanks for clarifying that you are an utter fool, which was already highly suspected.
