Only two SEC schools haven't had a single NFL first round pick in the last five years.

Wow, you gotta be garbage to be included in this stat, which works because Auburn is not just garbage but hot garbage. What a terrible school.

Just goes to show that therefore the tremendous success Auburn has had in that time span, solely rests on the formidable shoulders of that great man and American, Gus.......

Some of them fell into the "tweener" category, like Lawson and Jeff Holland. Some had measurables counting against them, like Montravious Adams.

Our best bet for a 1st rounder this year, Derrick Brown, decided to come back for his senior season.

Lawson probably should've been a first rounder.

But it's certainly an odd combination of recruiting success, a decent amount of wins and no recent high draft picks.

At first I really thought OP was trolling with a lie. I thought for sure Auburn had a 1st rounder go in the last five years but OP is right. Damn that is surprising.

Are you the UAB/Auburn fan, also name of Tommy, that used to pretend to be a UA fan?

It’s hard to compete with Alabama in recruiting with the way they hand out cash. The recent FBI case proves that. The fact that Gus can win like he does without elite talent is a testament to his coaching prowess. No current SEC coach has beat Alabama more than Gus.

Who was the last? That tackle (Robinson?) that flamed out due to injuries, etc?

Auburn has had plenty highly rated guys. The high school coaching staff just doesn't develop talent really well.

I expected that on offense because of their Mickey mouse offense, but not on defense.

Yeah, but injury history and a tweener frame sank him.
