Even as someone who grew up in Alabama, I've always been amazed at the corruption and incompetence on display in Louisiana politics.

At this point it's practically your state slogan.

"Louisiana: Our governor probably stole something."

This evolving shitshow from the new AD to the "we never officially fired him" defense is not all on the dumbass Governor.

Unless your sentiment is that LA and it's flagship institution just continually put dumbasses in charge.

And a bunch of them still have jobs at LSU evidently.

I didn’t realize that Scott Woodward was a James Carville crony until I just read it in on TR.

This has so many layers of ick.

They are all in this boat together and they aren’t going to come out of this unscathed. This is going to set the program back a long way.

And it’s a pattern. The Les Miles firing frick up, Coach O depleting the program to bare bones, now completely fricking up what should have been a power move against a highly unlikeable coach.

Someone better grow a set and start ironing this shite out.

It’s one thing to lose football games. Its something else to make it a toxic environment.

IANAL but LSU, their media and personal leaks better be careful. They first made it seem like 'morals clause' was invoked to lower payments to a single bulk payment, never correcting news reports of these leaks. The intent - make it look like 'we've got the goods on Brian Kelly'.

BK's legal representation can fire back with a defamation lawsuit.

And as part of the LSU faithful have finally realized -- great look when trying to attract a 'big name' coach. I suspect they will have to take a step backward, hiring a lower tier coach.

This could still be good for them. He could turn out to be the next Mike Elko.

Finally! Someone in the LSU fanbase “gets it.”

That’s the least surprising thing I’ve heard in all this.

Yeah, it’s all fun and games to get a chuckle out of the whole thing on a message board, but in truth, LSU needs to tread very lightly on this.

It seems to be spiraling out of control, with way too many loose cannons involved who have the potential (and inclination) to cause some major damage.

Our last governor, John Bel Edwards, is a Democrat, but was a pretty good governor and seems honest. Jindal and Blanco were both incompetent for different reasons, but neither seemed like crooks.

The current one is just a grandstanding idiot. The only thing he could do to piss off his GOP voter base is mess with LSU athletics, yet here he is.

They just need to pay up in the best terms they can manage at this point.

LSU fans will not enjoy the hiring process. But you gotta do what you gotta do.

His politics has a lot of people like myself like warm already. This kind of bullshite is next level frickery. Our state natural resources are being raped. Coastal restoration just got set back a decade. We are last in every possible social metric and the young people who can contribute to improving are leaving. We lead only in crime and obesity and the mother fricker who I voted for to shine a fricking light into the darkness decides to stick his clown sized peanut head into one of the few sources of entertainment this state can provide. Thank god we have ducks and redfish but he is trying his absolute hardest to frick that up.

I’m going to start going to USM games. They are terrible but at least I can watch football get home before 2am and not feel like an a-hole for throwing money into a bottomless black hole or worse yet in the hands of the greasy couyon’s in this swamp.

another press conference with that illiterate coonass governor on this would go crazy today. any chance we could pass the hat around and help our little swamp friends get this set up later? it’s the giving season.

As a fan, seeing my school pay out an incredibly large sum of money to someone who in no way, shape, or form earned the money, I am glad to see LSU take a stand like this.
