Plus that title in 57 Auburn was on probation and shared with Ohio State.
Pat Dye was the best Coach in Auburn history but he never won a national title.

Shug Jordan personally saved the AU program from bankruptcy & resurrected the AU football team. He was even a greater man & American who was wounded at Normandy & fought in a total of 5 invasions in both theaters, earning a Bronze Star & Purple Heart. Coach Bryant said “ Shug has more courage in his little finger than I've got in my entire body.” Should name the town after him.
