What a hilarious concept concerning this matter.
Most students in College right now actually "need" said laptops and internet access to begin with.
This will be great to read and study about in the future.
Why not just cancel the semester and give people back their money?
Colleges are nothing more than glorified businesses these days anyway.

Because I've put in a lot of fricking time into this semester already. I dont know if you know, but people spend 15 hours studying somedays. Then you want to trash all that work/time? nah frick that

There were three options for Universities. Cancel the semester, go to on-line learning or bring everyone back from spring break and have an epidemic.
Only on-line learning allowed individuals to graduate on-time and not lose a semester of learning. It is not an ideal situation, but I agree it was the best option. There are many issues with this technology and professors ability to teach. It is why most colleges are only banning students, not professors and staff who are needed to make this technology work.
International students will have to find a place to live. They are being banned from Campus, but did not want Dorm rooms to be breeding centers.
This has a huge cost for the Universities, hourly employees (Many will not get a check), and the students.
I strongly believe this will help mitigate the impact of the pandemic.
