One thing is for sure Bama may be good at football but their fans are bums!

Talk about bandwagon fans. All the leftover fans from the Southeast United States who have no loyalty to their home state. Is there anything worse than a fan from outside Alabama who acts like they are true fans? I know a pharmacist from South MS who has season tickets and never went to Bama nor has any ties to the program. No sir, their fans are the epitome of Walmart T-shirt culture. Great team. Great coach. But the fans blow chunks. Paul Finebaum is your case in point. All alumni, please disregard the above.

Your threads are just as terrible here as they are on the OT.

I tend to agree that unless you or close family are alumni of a school, you should cheer for a school in your home state (or where you grew up). Anything else looks very bandwagon, especially if the chosen school is Alabama.

The only reason to be a fan of a team is either state pride or being an alum. Otherwise, its just a minor league sport. It would be just as disingenuous as being a Kentucky basketball fan who cheers for a different football team.

Their fans are actually pretty cool and very reserved for how much success they enjoy. I've never had an issue in Tuscaloosa. Even when we won in '12 they didn't say a bad word. I enjoy visiting that town

Every major conference in the NCAA has fans that aren't "affiliated" in the "proper" way that most students see fit. It's a way to make fans/students of lesser programs feel better about themselves. So he has season tickets... Bama season tickets are hard to get and are very expensive. I'd say the guy in question has every right to be a fan.

There's a bama fan that calls in to my local sports radio shows all the time that's also a fan of NC basketball and the Yankees.

My situation is the worst. I grew up and graduated from Bama and now take my son to Yankees games due to proximity. I have bandwagon written all over me, although I am not.
