You’ve got to hand it to Napier for working his arse off to get his team ready for the Sun Belt championship game while he’s also trying to assemble his staff at Florida.

He will do a really good job for the Gators.

I did not like seeing Napier go to the gators. I wanted them to hire a boom or a Ron zook. Not someone that builds a culture, holds players accountable, and can recruit.

I admit, I wanted Aranda, Riley, or Napier as our coach as I thought Kelly was untouchable and would retire at ND. Any of these here previous names I would have been thrilled with. Just because Florida hired doesn’t change the fact I think he’s a very good coach.

Seems like a really good coach. Hopefully some of the clown show Mullen brought can wash away and UGA/UF can become a top 10 matchup every year.

Agreed. I love the guy. Wish we would have at least interviewed. He is going to have a chip on his shoulder (rightfully) for years to come over that.

I hate that a decent coach has to suffer at a shithole before landing a winner.

UF will be Billy's Michigan State.
ETA: Or Ole Miss

Me too, he’s a guy that has put his time in and is hard not to like.

I’m actually rooting for him to do well.

I am too. However, I'm confident all of the Alabama and Florida fans would be saying different things if LSU had hired him.

I said that LSU should contact Napier and Aranda. But no, y’all had to run off and beg Riley and several others to come to BR.

When Napier owns LSU arse for the next few years, don’t say I didn’t try to help y’all out.

Your claim is tad dubious.

So is that one.

Sure he did okay against against Nicholls St (3 pt win), South Alabama (2 pt win), Arkansas St (1 pt win), Ga State (4 pt win), Ga Southern (8 pt win), and so on...however the minute he stepped out of his lane to play big boy football, he got smashed 38-10 to a team that lost and gave up 57 pts to f'cking KANSAS.

I know that the coaching search didn't go quite how you wanted it to, as LSU was able to secure the coach from Notre Dame,...f'cking NOTRE DAME, but you do get credit for not giving it up.

Same.

Riley and Kelly are about even for me.

Rathered Fickell, Aranda, or Napier just based on potential upside.

I'd be more worried about him than your current hire to be honest. He already knows the recruiting pipeline down there, and if you can keep the top talent in state coming to LSU, LSU is going to win a lot of games every year if the coach is just competent.

Kelly will probably do OK with recruiting, but I feel it's almost certain that Napier would have.

Napier and Kelly both provided what Ldu needed. Organization and structure. Kelly has pedigree but I like Napier’s age better.
