I see some of these replies about new dates for games, and it occurs to me that most of December could still have meaningful games. Nice to not have this big dead period between the last regular season games (or even CCG's) and bowls that are more than just directional schools and community colleges.

Watching a regular season game on the 19th is a pretty cool thing, especially since at least one of my boys will be home from school.

The season started a month late...

Then there have been many games canceled. Alabama fans just went almost 3 weeks without a game due to bye week and cancels.

Bowl Games normally start in Dec, giving almost no football downtime.

So...

Did they officially cancelled the LSU/Bama game?

I thought the SEC was still trying to convince Alabama to play the game next week.

I have no idea. I don't see where Alabama gains anything at this point by playing the game.

Our seasons did, but there were other conferences I did watch. I'm talking about the overall length of the college football season, not just my team. It's like why I don't understand the NFL not throwing in another bye week. Would they make less TV money per weekend, and would that offset having one more weekend of revenue?

L SISSY U at its finest....

While I have heard rumors about Alabama/LSU being rescheduled, I know for a fact that the original game was canceled due to LSU running and screaming like a little girl.

No game should ever have been canceled. ZERO hospitalizations and false positives all over the place. Contact tracing should be fricking illegal.

I'm ready for Merica to look and act like Merica again.

Oh, has the game been rescheduled? No

Will it be rescheduled? Not if LSU can help it.

Those are true statements....

I like the season starting later. Nobody will miss cooking in the stadium on Labor Day watching a blow out against a D2 school.

The season is literally less games and your dumbass is talking about how it's longer.

PS: The NFL bye weeks are for the players who play 18 games before the playoffs.

My wish is that football extends until basketball begins conference games and goes until baseball which is moved back and has the CWS in mid August. Then we can go right into football again. No down times

Team A plays two games, one in September and one in December.

Team B plays 8 games, 4 each in October and November.

Which one had the “longer” season, “dumbass” (your word, not mine)?

I am not saying it’s better to have fewer games. What I am saying is that IF we are going to end up with the same number of games, and IF the late start is already a “sunk cost”, then having games in December is a nice trade off.

Why is this so hard to understand or contentious for you? You’ve already gotten 5 downvotes on your first reply like this and now you’re doubling down.
