Has nothing to do with analyzing the game, it's about analyzing the numbers.

Then you have the type who thinks football is this quantum mechanics level complex enterprise and the layman couldn't possibly decipher what's going on.
Football is a very simple game that just has a fairly extensive lexicon or vocabulary. It has to be simple. Your average college football player isn't exactly a Mensa-level intellectual. But coaches build up this layer of pseudo-complexity around the game and some viewers get intimidated.

That pretty much sums it up. This board is the only thing LoSerU fans have. Most other teams have their own boards to seriously discuss sports. Some teams have more than one.

Speaking of TiderInsider there are a few posters there that refer to Milroe as Milly. That’s ghey. One of them posted “I swoon” when somebody posted a photoshopped picture of Milroe in an alternative Alabama uniform, which isn’t going to happen though I personally wouldn’t much care.

It's called a hobby. Some people take them far more seriously than others. What you should be asking is why so many people live vicariously through sports teams yet have no more than a rudimentary/elementary understanding of the game and it's moving parts
