Omadawgs despite our catcher

Very thankful to punch our ticket to Omaha, but has anyone else noticed how awful our catcher is? He single handily cost us game 2 of the regional and cost us 2 runs last night. If we can't make a defensive catching change then I feel our time in Nebraska will be short. That is all.

He dropped a pitch that would’ve been called a third strike had he held on that started a big rally but Skelton’s bat has been better than Gilbert and I’m not sure if Gilbert is really that much better defensively

I 'preciate all of these threads about MSU, but why dont you guys ever post on your team board? There is not one thread about advancing to tCWS.

I was worried that foul tip may have had him a little concussed last night but he actually started playing better behind the plate after it happened.
It didn’t hit the mask. Hit the helmet above the mask. Definitely rang his bell.

Henderson is a stud. Top 5 coach in the SEC. You'd be crazy to let him walk.

I don't think a catcher is the only thing holding Mississippi State back from taking home the natty.

I remember Gilbert being a LOT better at throwing out base stealers, but Skelton was hitting better late in the season.

Agree 100% and it's crazy that he is pretty good digging the ones out of the dirt.
I know someone who coached him in travel ball up in south haven and he said this was always a problem with dropping easy pitches. He seems to go brain dead sometimes to me and maybe he just loses focus. Any way on to Omaha.
