You cant lose to Vandy and Claim to be a top ten team, Hell we beat Vandy. It should be a rule if you lose to Vany all talk of you being a serious team should cease.

Actually, I think there should be a rule that if you score only two points against a crappy football team and can't gain as many yards in another game as you gave up points to the opposing team, they should disband the entire football program...or at the very least burn that turdhole known as Scott Field to the pasture that it sits on.

I don't think there is a team in the SEC including Florida that wanted to play us at the end of season. Bottom Line.

Man we kicked the shite out of Vandy and still lost. Sounds weird, but that game was amazing. I've never seen a team that much worse than another one get a win like that. It was unreal. Still counts as an L and yeah you can't lose games like that and make the top ten.

Congrats for upsetting Vandy - truly the highlight of your season last year.

I didnt start a thread claiming respect, I know we had an awful year. See thats the difference. I dont play or recruit or make are budget bigger, or coach Im just a fan and I am real with myself. I know State sucked but I also know Ole Miss is nowhere near being an elite team.

I AM NOT AN OLE MISS FAN. Having said that, I watched almost every Ole Miss game last year. They were IN every game and could have won every game. Florida is the only other team in the SEC that can say that. They improved greatly during the year and kicked arse in the Bowl game. They should be the favorite in the west next year (although LSU & BAMA will make it hard). Snead is good and they have some skill players. My question is how will there defense be next year?

This team took some games to gel together (They began 3-4), but once they did they played lights out and won six in a row. Expect even better next year.

Exactly right. There will be NO learning curve next year ladies. We'll come out focused, determined and confident. With all the uncertainty in the West, it is VERY reasonable to the West to come down to LSU, OM and Bama. I'm hanging my hat on OM, sue me.

That is a great statement about our year as a body of work. Losing 4 games at the beginning of the season is not only excusable, but it's EXPECTED when you didn't win a single game in the SEC the year previous even though you can argue that the talent was comparable. This team had to learn how to play together and learn how to trust a coach who could use his words and didn't drink from a sippie cup.

Returning 8 starters if memory serves. So should be in pretty good shape. Losing Jerry is massive but we did work hard to get Powe in school and he should have that spot next year. He's got the physical tools at least. The defense should be about the same as this years I'd imagine.

We return 8 starters. I almost forgot about Ashlee Palmer.
We bring back 8 starters not counting Greg Hardy who did not start a game last year and played less than 90 total plays. We also bring back Johnny Brown who started as a freshman, but lost his job last year.

Ole Miss looked really improved last season. I think the Nutt hire was a great one from the start. That said, they are still a few years away for contending with LSU and Alabama for the West title. I hope I'm wrong and it's next year, cause I love the competition and want them to have a good record when we beat them in their stadium.
